Have I made some newbie mistakes?

Went stupid this week and spent a fair bit (by my standards anyway) of cash money on bike gear. In my defence I did the best I could, I didn't have any friends to ask for help or advice, read descriptions with a passion and checked sizing over and over again... but I'm worried I've bought the wrong kind of stuff, panicking about the boots in particular cause the descrip says mx? Anyway thoughts appreciated, don't think I'll get the gear for another 2 or 3 weeks:

Those boots aren't motocross boots. You've bought good gear, I just hope you've allowed for GST & stuff when it arrives at Customs.

Have been reading and it seemed to be the done thing. Also compared their pricing to pricing I've found on nz retailers and seemed quite cheaper. Boots for example... $213 give or take a bit for tax, shipping etc on that website, $460 or so in NZ..

Edited to add... also I don't have a heap of time to shop around inbetween long working hours and kids etc!

Sounds promising, my own steel caps are pretty light anyway though!

Too right! I checked and re checked sizing, even watched YouTube videos on some of the gear and compared my height and weight to the models, fingers crossed still though!

Knox... back protector? Google is my friend I guess? What do you mean CE rated? And why would I change them?

Awesome buying from a great website/company...where in NZ can you buy a Head to Toe newbie starter pack for $673.55?
Even if you are to to pay any GST (which you probably won't) you will still come out better off.
Print out your online receipt, you may at the very least be asked for that.

I bought a HJC helmet locally this week, it alone cost just less than your entire spend...$549.
After querying the difference in prices between the suppliers website and the dealer $598, the supplier sold it to me for $10 less than thier website price .

you do realise that the prices are in pounds Mark, the total is more like $1300 + freight.

For example I've picked up pretty good boots for $100, gloves for $70 and helmets for less than $200 not that long ago, local.

Not saying it isn't cheaper to buy abroad, just I'd like to support local stores if the cost is not too disparate.

I stand corrected, you are absolutely right.
When I buy from FC Moto its in AU$...those boots are AU$198.39.

    Total purchase price is AU$791.14.
To buy my HJC Tapetop is $AU315.96, but I was happy to support local on that this time, ordered it 3.30pm one day and it was here by 9.30am the next day...brilliant service.
