Top one as I first looked I thought. 5 grand an another 10 to get it right.
2nd one. . . Geez 80% there, probably more like 60%. Price of kettle parts would have to see 15-20 if you were given it.

Not for me. Prefer the idea of a 550. Apparently they are pants but. . .

Tried to blag a ride on a 750 but I needed to get back to Wellington round trip but he only offered his ex cop XJ750.

    I don't remember the ride.

My lasting memory of the 750 drum brake model I rode is the "whoooooop" as it was rolled on in top gear. The 4LS brake was adequate, not to Honda CB750 standard, but night and day compared to the Matchy 500 I was used to.
I had a ride on a 550 (4LS model) as well. It got compared to the Mach III and because it didnt accelerate the same it was put down, but as a tourer and general allrounder I reckon it was better.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

    Apparently these are Very Rare.

Just ordered a new bike so the start price for auction is likely the difference he needs.

Here's another case of someone not reading the market

Yes they are iconic game changer, and this one looks great. They should really skyrocket in value, but for whatever reason whenever you see them they are about a third of this price. This is low mileage but the market speaks and all.

It'll have butter in the forks, a rear shock with no damping, seals that have turned to tar and carbs that are full of varnish. All stuff no one thinks of and end up costing thousands if you don't have the tools to fix it yourself and the patience of Job waiting for NOS seals and bearing kits to turn up from some dusty store room in parts foreign that requires a full container of munt before it is despatched to NZ. Probably have bent rims too.

Being a first model that's a good call.

I have two friends with them. They paid not much , last 2 yrs ago, first longer and a fair amount spent on nos. I've ridden the 11, but if I've ridden the slab 750 I can't remember.

Late 90's we were buying tidy ones for $2500. For the motors for speedway TQ's. That's where most went.

I'm reminded that a few years back Lindsay Williamson and a mate thought they would be just the job for the pre 89 class at the Southern Classic. By the end of the weekend both 750's had thrown rods. Age does not make them stronger.
