I wasn't conscripted ... I joined on my own free will. Life was about sex, booze and Rock and Roll ... And getting out of camp at any given chance. You could lock your doors ... but there was no need. All the cretins were already in the bar with you.
Never owned a house ... It wasn't a priority. My income dictated my expenditure. Being paid fortnightly ... off pay week was a bitch. And there were plenty of them.
Youth suicide is about having issues they can't or wont deal with. Simply because they never learned (or were never shown) what was really important. Like buying stuff with money you worked for. Knowing costs ... but not value. Value depends on how much actual importance you put on things. Your idea of importance priority can change. Often daily. Deal with issues at the time ... and move on win or lose. The moving on bit is the hardest.
Not getting what you want or expect(ed) CAN be depressing. Even (so called) Grown ups know this. Such disappointment should not be fatal. The "I want" group override's the "I NEED" group. What I regarded as being luxuries ... many now regard as essential.
Moral values depend on examples they've seen and experienced. Usually with approval from those they know and trust. Often a parent ... but usually (and almost always) a friend. Choose your friends carefully ... They can get you into a power of shit. Some of mine sure did ... or I got them into a power of shit ... (we sort of took turns).
It's a crime only if you get caught (apparently) ... 18 years of undetected crime (in the armed forces) gets you a medal. And totally deserved in only a few cases. An increase in crime doesn't always mean smarter crim's ... just more of them. Simply weight of numbers overload the policing "System". Jail is usually just "A hazard of the job".
Nothing more.
"Massive inequality in Housing" does not exist. Priorities that you have day one after leaving school usually do not include buying a house. Sex drugs and Rock and Roll ... and a "few good times" take priority. And many start that BEFORE they leave school. I saw on a tv doco once about people on welfare ... they were moaning about the fact they couldn't afford to buy a house on a Benefit. Here was I thinking ... that is not what the Benefits were for.
You get what you can afford from the efforts you make. If you can't make the effort ... you wont afford much. Here was I thinking ... you can't afford NOT to make the effort ... if that's what you want. I didn't ... but I don't claim now ... that it's "MY RIGHT" to own one. If I couldn't be bothered to make the effort ... why should I expect others to be bothered enough to finance it for me .. ??
When life throws you a curve ... Lean into it ...
How’s this twat still on KB? Surely the PD posts indicate he is nothing but a troll with an old bike he rides once in a while.
And a Honda.
Fucking boomers.
And a Suzuki.
