Hi All

This is where I will be posting details of the Wellington to Kapiti section of this event. What event you say?

Basically I was hoping that I’d get away from Wellington quite early in the morning ( like 6:00 or 7:00 at the very latest ) but remembering I actually have to ride into town 1st OK

.

That will hopefully give people upstream of us more time to enjoy the ride as well. The plan (such as it is) would be to leave Wellington early and ride up to Kapiti to meet up with Sinfull who is doing the Kapiti to Palmy stage (I think) and hand over the ‘batons’ over breakfast and a coffee. (I'm sure you will be welcome to do multiple stages)

Vicki and I will provide breakfast at the handover point – just simple bacon rolls and coffee or something (depends on the weather) so don't get all tricky about it.

Hand over point could be our place in Raumati South (especially if its raining) or Paekakareki Hill Road Look out point (Vicki will take camping stove etc up there to cook breakfast).

This is all a little 'soft' at the moment but it IS going to happen on that day - sign up HERE please.

Still blows me away,mucho gratitude from all cancer victims and families,this fundraiser helps in so many ways.

And Paul I hope to see you at my piss up on 25thFeb in Hawera,check out link here under Taranaki,and this is invite to all,a small token of my thanks.

Hi Paul,

You can confirm me as a starter on 03 March 2012.

I will get the ginny out, if I haven't got another bike by then but I will be there on something.

Confirm the time and place you are leaving from in Wellington and I will go into town from Aotea and start there with you.

Hmmmm bacon !

Think the second hand over point is around Sanson, where i believe the ride splits east and west (if someone would like to confirm and touch bases ?)

I'm thinkin of providing a few snarlers over the hotplate and refreshmints for any who trip up to sanson and back down into Otaki that might like to partake in a feed !

Orrrrrrrr of course if the weather is mint, we could always follow one of the battons further up the line and make it a lunch rather than a brunch ?

The Saddle into Woodville, back though Ballance Rd, Pahiatua track, Shannon, Otaki would eat up another hour or two !

Opps Sorry Paul, bit of a hijack there, who'd be able to tell i aint been on the road for 2 months 3 weeks and 2 hours though aye lol

Have to agree with you there JD, and it would mean Wellington folk would be still getting home at a resonable hour, to get any chores that may need doing done !

Yep Sanson is the handover point Bill. Me and Barry (Dogs) will be there hopefully basking in the sun on your arrival

Baz will head off to Marty in New Plymouth and I'll head up to Napier to handover to John (MSTRS). At this point thinking SH1 to Hunterville (fuel stop if anyone needs it) then over the Gentle Annie into Napier. This may change to the Saddle, Danners, and good old SH50 but I'm certainly leaning towards the Annie. Pace will be moderate and safe so everyone can enjoy what will be an amazing ride and a great cause
