Come as something French - can can dancer. (Me that is, not the guitarist!)
I guess the pit must have been relatively deep then? I remember playing in pits that were sooo freaking cold we would be down there with sleeping bags and passing hot water bottles around. (i was playing saxophone at the time). We got some really strange looks when people looked into the pit at the end to see what was in there lol
Yeah, the pit is quite deep. I'll see if I have another pic with one of the cast lying on the stage looking down at the woodwind players. I didn't have a problem with the cold myself but the oboe/cor anglais player was having kittens due to a very cold draught coming from somewhere and worrying that her oboe would crack again. The show was at the Hawkins Centre which has a hydraulic pit which can be brought up to stage level. Remember doing Pirates of Penzance there years and years ago and they had a semicircular cat walk which surrounded the pit which the cast used in one number!
Wooo hooo look at you!!
