Get an after market one, suzuki ones are piss weak, J-Lo ate 3 genuine ones before the after market went in after that never had any problems with it.

Go the aftermarket unit Ehab. Yamaha R1 2000 model.....you need to do some wire modifying though. If not Ebay is your friend get it while exchange rate is still reasonable.

Pretty much true, as long as it's not from a small bike with anaemic stator output.
How much did you want to pay? There's no guarantee any R/R that's not new is going to last more than 5 seconds, but it's reasonable to assume a new aftermarket one will. Buy a generic one though - you will likely pay more for a "Suzuki" one (which isn't made by Suzuki anyway).
I dunno who sells them, but try Mt Eden M/C; they had them last time I was looking. Most of the shops get them from Eurobike or Northern Accessories, apart from the bike shops who stock only "OEM" ones that they get through the importer for their marque, who buys them from the same manufacturer (like Shindengen), then add their markup.

ask for the model number off the thou and then do a google search and see will it fit yours.
