I am wanting to knock up some rear facing camera mounts out of steel for Puke this weekend. Has anyone got in descending order of importance:
A mig welder with gas and wire
Welding hat
Some steel offcuts, plate, angles etc
Drill press
Steel tools e.g clamps, grinder
A fully fitted fabrication shop!!

No harm in asking I suppose. Thanks

what are you welding it to??? just bend some light stainless or something and then add a few bolt holes in and and bolt it on!!

Not welding it on to anything. I want to fabricate the mount for the camera, which is a little tricky. It will mount onto the pillion peg mounts.

I have done a bit of stick before but I am not very confident. The actual mount is going to be for Bugjuice's bike. I would probably need to have him and his bike present too make the fit. We'll see.

Experience tells me it has to be solid enough to stop excessive vibration. Obviously not so solid it becomes lump of steel on the side of the bike.

yeah velcro and tape just doesnt work too great ,,, then again a big hunk of steel isnt the best either! might help him to wheelie if he has a huge hunk of steel on the back of his bike!

True enough but I would have to counterbalance it on the other side!

we could weld it to his exhaust to stop that falling off aswell

why dont you just make the mount so it can be hose clamped to the footpeg??
that way you can transfer it to other bikes and also be able to mount it to the front bars too????

just found this thread - cheeky buggers..
My rear pillion peg bolts onto the outside of the frame. 2 hex-keys remove it quickly, so then all we have to do is drill 2 holes in the right spot for the mount, and screw it back on. Should work in theory!

And no, no huge steel boxes, thanx..
