Flick Quasimoto a PM and ask the question mate, not so sure on camo but he can certainly make them panelled in any colours you chose. Actually thinking on it, go to his website and have a play with the colour combinations. Have fun! I was only teasing :D

Because one large colour even black is harder to spot than little patches of different colours... ive ridden past many people in this gear.... in a rural area the camo jackets blend with the trees behind them
Camoflauge is designed to hide you because of all the colour changes thats the entire point, it has an effet in all surroundings... some more so than others... but harder to see over a solid colour.
case in point...

Actually, I believe the GS650G was an abomination to begin with, I like Marks better than a stocker. Still a piece of shit but imagine a turd with a bow tied round it.
Yours, on the other hand, is quite simply a living legend and a sight to behold. Can't improve that.

I think they were so revolutionary that they tried to keep them secret and hidden. Kinda like a Ninja. It just so happens that Kaumandsukme had those naming rights so Suzuki had no choice but to stick the Katana sticker on the GS, even though the name and sticker could simply not convey the awesomness.
Kinda like a Lobster Knife fight or a Bull riding monkey.

Send Quasi a PM, I'm sure he'll be happy to throw you a price if you're serious about it, but it won't be cheaps. The other option is I've seen a lot of people mention a couple of other custom-leather places, don't know the prices but the names of the companies should be easy to find by looking through one of the 30 or so threads on leathers... Some place on K Rd, some place in newmarket and another in christchurch?
SkidMark - If the camouflage gear that he is talking about is going to blend into the trees, what the hell kind of trees do you drive past that are purple and orange?!

well simple, use your original templates, just change the colour/material and charge me extra?
i quite like the ones u have in either blue or red with those shoulder pads, but camo would look nicer, and im not pissed bout pants, i think jeans in same material in your template would look mint with the jacket, so maybe a quote for getting that done so i can start saving? im 28 pants and 14 or something (xSmall to small) jacket
shouldnt be more than 1K all up should it? 500 for jacket and 300 for pants, then extra cost of changing material 200?
thats my guess anyway
jono035
21st June 2009, 21:20
That is pretty cheap for a leather jacket anyway and given the amount of extra work in making something custom I think you might be low-balling it a bit...
Are you talking about making leathers with the panels being either purple or orange or the panels being purple/orange camouflage pattern?
I think colouring a single piece of leather purple/orange camouflage pattern would be difficult...

It would mean making a whole new pattern unless you want overlayed leather on top of the pattern? like a graphic overlay, but this would be very thick and not nice to wear.
I assume your talking about Leather ???

I'd worry about a whole bunch of other stuff before trying to get leathers to match my bike.
Few riders hang on to their first bike for longer than they have to.
Yesterdays news is tomorrows fish and chip paper.
My advice. Buy a good quality set of off the shelf gear that fits you.
You'll save money and won't end up with a suit that is designed to look like a bike that you'll probably get rid of when you can upgrade it.
Quasi makes some great gear which is good value.
Other brands like Teknic, Shift, Rev-it, Ixon, Dri-rider also make good quality gear at resonable prices.
If ordering online double check the sizing. Measure yourself and check the size charts.
With the $$$ you'd save on a custom suit you could do some tracks days, pay your insurance, get some rider training etc

Like this (http://www.ninjaonline.co.uk/media/gbu0/prodsm/ninjacamouflage.jpg) but in purple and orange I'm guessing. And remember, the customer is always right.

I think skidMark has a point :shit:
Camouflage is ment to alter the perception of distance and make things seem further away and harder to judge speed. Although I dont think purple and orange would be hard to miss + a purple bike
But i would still be wary about wearing the urban camo (black and grey) through town as the last thing we need is something to make us less visable to other motorists.

Frankly I would rather get a standard set of Quasi gear, and spend any extra $$$'s on a back protector or something similar.

Could you not make the suit out of black leather and then get the print painted on with that leather paint stuff?
Bend-it
22nd June 2009, 11:50
your gear, especially leather, will far outlive your 1st bike, so I'd recommend neutral colours won't make you look like a plonker on any other coloured bike.
See my "nick" on this forum? That was partially because my 1st bike was a bandit... but that was afew bikes ago now, and I'm glad for the 2nd meaning it has, i.e. to make a bend in something, 'coz that's the kinda roads that are great for biking!
New riders often feel like their first bike may be all they'll ever want... but you just wait a year or so, and you'll struggling to find a larger capacity, newer purple and orange bike to match your gear.

Camo is a pattern, what sort of material would you like..... We could do it in Muslin if you like, perhaps pvc ? Hell I can get my Gran to knit it with WOOL if you like
