I guess we always focus on the negative but ...quite frankly the last two days I have been into AMPs I have to say what awesome people work there.
These people had to deal with me from the service department to the parts department to the main shop area. Poor them
Thank you and I would recommend your store to anyone.
Hmm...some nice Triumph Bonnies there for sale at the moment.

I've had dealings with Shane and Jas in service dept and they are top guys. Prompt and efficiant and polite with it. Also with Karl in parts.......always rite back to me and answers his e-mails as well. Guys like these make a shop work and make people want to do return business.

He's still at AMPs. Saw him the other day. His letters to the editor occasionally turn up in the NZ Herald too.

Thats because you already own a Harley. These cunts wont give you a second glance otherwise.
To be fair, i've had acceptable service from parts and accessories but as stated above, the sales guys are fucking useless ignorant cunts.

From what he said, he's had to stop posting on KB from work. He's probably got a life...
Wonder if he checks in occaisionally to see who's still here?

+1 Don't know a single Triumph owner (and I know shitloads) who doesn't feel this way after a short period of time.
I had several shit experiences with them and gave them the benefit of the doubt for a while (despite the feedback I kept getting from others). They fucked it up time after time and I have accepted my shortcomings as a non Harley riding mortal.
The straw that broke the Camel's back was after purchasing a set of mufflers from them, being told I'd have to wait 4 weeks for a 20 minute plug in tune.
"Fuck em" say I and hundreds more I've talked to.

DOH AJ why do you think I keep demo-ing the Triple???
Silly boy... hahahahahaha
FYI: I was a customer of Shafts for many years and continued to supprt them when the ownership changed and they became AMPS.
Geoff Bond is one of the original sales team and he rocks... 100% top guy. Whenever I ask to take out a couple of demo bikes (usually for me and AJ when he comes up to visit) we have the bikes for the ENTIRE day.
There has even been a couple of occasions when I have picked up a demo bike on the Friday and not returned it til the following Monday...
Now THATS what I call looking after your customer. Cheers Geoff!
Parts dept...mixed results...generally pretty good however my last order was a bit of a cockup. I ordered a throttle cable...was told one week delivery time and that someone would ring me when it arrived. Got a ph call 3 months later asking when I was gonna come in and pick it up!!!
BTW after placing the order with AMPS I managed to source one from Road&Sport within 48hrs but still fully intended to honour my order with AMPS...it was actually a bit of a test to see just how long it would take before they rang...oh and I DID go and pick it up when they finally rang;)
Service dept...mixed results...when I book my bike in for a service and get told to drop it off first thing in the morning and it will be ready for pickup that arvo I expect that to be the case...lost count of how many times I would ring in the arvo and be told "oh sorry we didn't start on your bike till this arvo, it won't be finished today".
Did they offer a loan bike to get me home??? No they bloody well didn't, cost me extra just to get home and back into work again the next day. Cheers for that.
But the clincher came when I rocked up there one day and asked if one of the guys could loosen a nut that I just couldn't get undone (was wanting to remove my back pegs)...well I was told "oh no we won't be able to do that til sometime next week".
That was the final straw. Its not like I haven't spent a fair amount of cash there over the years...
On the whole its a great dealership and its nice to walk in the door and be greeted by people who know my name but they won't be servicing my bike again cos that 'final straw incident' pissed me off. I now go to Road&Sport/KTL and more recently Triplezee.
However even though I won't take the bike there for service I will happily buy another bike from them if the price is right...they know I'm in the market for a 2nd bike and there is gonna be some more demo-ing happening soon :devil2:

I haven't dealt with AMPS for a couple of years, but the people in the parts and accessories/clothing departments were pretty good. The one exception was when I ordered something on indent: I had to pay up front, was told it could take up to 6 months (!), and phoned back after 7 to find out they'd forgotten to place the order!
As for their bike sales people, they're crap. They totally ignore you (unless, I guess, you're mates with them). The last time I was offered a test-ride, I bought the bike. It's not unlikely that could happen again, which is why I try not to go into places like Holeshot where they're very good with test rides.

I bought my first Aprilia @ Unirversal's in 2000 & then followed them to AMPS,have been dealing with the same salesman for the past 9yrs (6 bikes over that period) & have had nothing but exceptional service from these guys, have had to grumpy several times but it all works out well in the end. He has left now & had a wee issue with my KTM that KTMNZ told me to piss off but AMPS told them that was a bit rough & they sorted it.
PS. not one of them was a Harley though !
sorry Maha, looks too much like the honsuzkawia.....
But sounds completely unique.

My experience with AMPS was brief but satisfactory. A custom map for the Hornet, and a chat with Lou after which I ended up with a new pair of gloves.
The Service Dept made allowances for the fact that I was coming from out of town and accommodated my out-of-sync timings. They were pleasant with it.
There were probably at least a couple of tossers there, which is why we don't see Lou hereabout these days.

As a professional I only count the important things.
The service manager has more Buell clothing and better tattoos than I do.
Obliged to go there.
