Sure, the sun will be out, the sky will be blue, there won't be a cloud to spoil the view, but as i'll not be riding, it'll be raining, raining in my heart...

The first bit had me going, then suddenly it went all Phil Collins.
Worse things happen at sea you know.
But the Pub plan B is a stroke of genius. Blues band in K road on Sunday afternoons too.

PLAN B... are you insane man (rhetorical)...
Plan A: 1pm, 1300 hours, 1 o'clock in the pm: Blues in the pub...
If the weather is good:
Plan B: 10am, build up a thirst for 2 hour and 30 minutes and revert to Plan A...

Just listening to Bob the weatherman on National Radio. Sorry BD I have some bad news... :(
I think I'm in for a miserable weekend. Not so much because the Volty will stay in the garage, but because the SV that shares the garage has just got a new chain & sprockets, new tyres, and been all spruced up in the last week. Now it looks like it will be staying in the garage too, and its rider will be moping around the place looking like someone stole his lollies. :baby:
I might just join you lot in the pub.

Nah the Volty and I are tough enough to go out in the rain. It's just scrawny little SV riders & buell jockeys that don't like to get wet. And I feel some responsibility to cheer them up by keeping them company in the pub. :msn-wink:

You'll be fine BD, if you're heading north I predict rain easing to showers around midday, if your heading south west (like me) showers clearing-ish, heading south east (coromandel) bloody cyclonic.
If you need to keep the chrome polished stay home otherwise come and play in the gravel with us. :bleh:

SEVERE WEATHER WARNING.
ISSUED BY MetService AT 11:03 am 10-Jul-2009
MEDIA
STORMY CONDITIONS FOR THE NORTH OF THE NORTH ISLAND THIS WEEKEND
A low near New Caledonia is expected to deepen rapidly today and move towards
New Zealand. Although the centre of the low should pass to the north of the
country, heavy rain and damaging winds associated with it are expected to affect
Northland down to Waikato.
Heavy rain should spread south during Saturday morning and not ease until Sunday.
Up to 150mm of rain is possible in Northland, especially about the eastern hills
from Whangarei northwards. For the Rodney District north of Warkworth, Great
Barrier Island, the Coromandel Peninsula and Kaimai Range up to 120mm is likely.
Gale force easterlies are forecast to develop at a similar time to the heavy
rain, turning southeast during Sunday. Damaging gusts of 120 to 140 km/h are
possible during Saturday and Sunday, especially about the higher ground of
Northland, Auckland, Great Barrier Island and the Coromandel Peninsula, as well
as about the Hauraki Plains.
The combination of the heavy rain and strong winds is likely to disrupt outdoor
activities, make driving hazardous and lead to surface flooding, slips, rapidly
rising streams and rivers and could damage trees and buildings. People in these
areas should keep up to date with the latest forecasts and warnings.

I see a few of those weather prediction charts at work. When I left today at 3pm it looked like a really good day to stay off the road in any kind of vehicle up north tomorrow, north easterlies are never very good up here. There is a forecasted change to south westerlies Sunday. That weather up here is not wonderful, wet and windy, but ok. You know the difference. From the east it is vile, very gusty and driving rain. From the west it still blows but is is more predictable, it still rains.
I would tackle a west driven storm, than an easterly one in a flash.
I dont have access to the hourly forecast we get at work here sorry.

It will only be 23C today in London. Plenty of sportsbikes on the roads here - all enjoying a warm summer. Hopefully the crap weather in NZ will have gone by the time I am home as I will be very ready for a ride.

OH.... I seee....
Well, in that case, I think it best to commission a report, to assess what the issue is, what options there are, their long term impacts and the net effect to the region.
In time we'll commission another report, since the last one is a little out of date, and we want a more detailed one.

I gave the test bike a wave over with some S100 a while ago. Good therapy and my camera bag had scuffed it a little.

I'm-a pop down the servo and get me some diesel, I think. The Trek's drivetrain is in need of attention.
Suppose I could give the 1400 a swipe with a rag while I'm in the garage.
