the last 2 days ive noticed at under 7 grand with no throttle my bike seems to splutter.. sounds like a rotory  for the first time i used 96 petrol.. but i dont think thats the reason.Took the carburettor( cant spell) out and cleaned that out.. maybe the way we put that back in has something to do with it.. anyone got any ides?

Put 91 back in it before you try changing anything else.
The different flame front coursed by 96 could well be the problem.

What condition are ya plugs? wet/dry? gap/insulator etc OK?
Is it all OK above 7k? no other problems?

the plug is about 2 weeks old..gave it a clean when we cleaned the carburettor so that shouldnt be the problem..after 7 grand everything is normal.. but thanx 4 the reply

96 octane petrol is crap - don't use it. Your problem is most likely sooting of the sparkplug. Had Eggs Zachary the same problem on my VFR750.
If you want to waste your money on higher octane fuel, buy 98 (BP Ultimate). Be aware though, that you'll get less power from it.
