Whoever crosses the line 1st is better :woohoo:
Be a hard one to quantify..................from what I've seen over the last year though it seems there were a couple of very fast MXer's. Could be that they're more accustomed to falling off and so aren't as scared of a wee off on track.

I know a cart guy or 2 that go well but i doubt there is a tried and proven advantage between any F1 riders or any other class for that matter.
I used to go faster around Manfeild on an F2 bike that i did on the F1 RC30.

I think they would have the same skills, a top level mx rider and a top level road rider basically have the same skills just tuned in better in diff aspects. Either one would kick ass in a F1 car!!

Last indoor kart racing broke two front axels without hitting anything.
They said they would prefer not to see me again.
I told then the surface was rough and the suspension and toe in were set wrong.Vince Martin would sort them for an alignment deal.
If you pull the brake lever up with the heel of your shoe they go faster...

Main difference is than an mx rider is already a racer and carries those skills over so can adapt quicker, a road rider has more to make their mind up on on certain skill sets when starting out in roadracing.
I assume by your first post you mean F1/F2 class in motorcycle racing?

You mean a hobby MX rider vs a hobby sports bike rider?
You need the best of both worlds. If you only have the back ground from one of the two, then there is a good chance that MX rider will come on top. I say this because a MX rider should be more aware of how different body inputs make the motorcycle react in different ways. You can ride a sports bike and pretend to go fast, despite making lots of errors in terms of correct riding form/body inputs. V.v. I don't see much happening in woodhil forest, when the rider doesn't have a clue on a MX bike..

MX would most certainly be an advantage, but you have to have road experience too - so they both get my vote :done:

the MX rider would probably know way more about suspension and would be less afraid of getting a little loose.
additionally i reckon they'd be more likely to take odd lines to pass and would probably make the better racer.
thinking of the top guys i've known in NZ over the years; most either came from MX or rode MX at the same time

Schumacher seems to be able to ride a bike very well....has won some races.Kimi does a bit of MX for training.
Damon Hill went from bikes racing to F1,so did Hailwood. And of course John Surtees is the only person to win both motorcycle and F1 championships.Plenty of others if you do the reshearch.
Just found out that John Surtees son was killed an a F2 race at the weekend...he was 18.
you just a racer dude?

A bike rider would struggle at first with the high g forces, but once the neck strenghened up they would be fine as Rossi has proved testing the Ferrari
