And the newsletter has it as 8/9th?
Pumba
27th July 2009, 19:43
Sorry been meaning to fix that. Latest AMCC newsletter (http://www.amcc.co.nz/Newsletter/Jul09/newsletter_Jul09.htm)has it down for 8 & 9 August, and so does the Mt Wellington Kart Club calander (http://www.mwkc.org.nz/index.cfm/Race_Calendar/2009_Planning_Calendar/2009_Planning_Calendar.html/2009_Planning_Calendar.pdf), so that is date I am going with

Well, I'm baffled and confused and getting a bit nervous. The AMCC newsletter says august 8-9. The AMCC website says august 18-19. That's probably meant to be 8-9. I've just looked at the Mt Wgtn kart club site and it shows august 15-16 in their calendar PDF which was supposedly updated in June this year! Sh*t! I'm supposed to be in Motueka on the 8th and 9th. I've just asked Wendy Lowe to confirm. I think i'm going to be sh*t out of luck and I'm going to have to move the sodding flight. Bollocks. Tim

Not this early in the championship. The next meeting in august will be the first time i've ever got to start from pole position. But that will be friggin hard if i'm in MOTUEKA!!!

Crap, well now I am confused as the rest of you. I thought the MWKC website had the same date as the newsletter.

You don't need pole you've hole shotted the starts for ages anyway LOL!
Go on go on your trip and give the championship a bit more interest Haha

The only way to hole shot in Auckland seems to be the one who jumps the start even more than Dave D.
esp in reverse direction that 1st corner is brutal. In MX they often face constant jumpers the wrong direction. That would be funny on a bike with no steering lock.

I wonder how backward falling start gates would go at a road race? Could be entertaining.

Just back on the original subject for a moment, I've received emailed confirmation via Wendy Lowe from Dave D that it's definitely the 8th and 9th. Well sh*t ... that certainly messes up my travel plans for that weekend. Ain't no way i'm givin up that pole position without a fight! :-) Tim

I'll be there. My trip to the South Island will have to be postponed. My bike and I survived a day's racing in the gloriously sunny Hawkes Bay and we're ready for more action. Come on Robert ... that green paint job must've taken at least a second off your lap times!

Well now we have figured out what weekend we are racing and that Tim is going to make an apearance (bugger) I can say that the weather looks like it is going to be crap.
The only good news is that the long range forecasts have been really unreliable that there is still a chance of :sunny:

Well, it might of... except I was riding like a bit of a girl last meeting (no offense to the fairer sex intended). Still not that thrilled at the prospect of reverse direction and rain... Still that sweeper is a bit hairy when wet too...

it'll be fine, hang right off, pitch it in and give it the gas. The trick is to be committed and it will all be good.
Oh yeah, . . . wet!
Commitment is the key. You aren't afraid of commitment are you?? I've found that once you are committed that the food isn't too bad.

I love the reverse direction. Especially in the wet! Just a bit scary coming into Hell's corner from full speed down the straight.
Now......we just gota get at least one bike fixed.
Hopefully the parts for the TZ will arrive tomorrow.

Yeah, Gaz, Karl, and Manwell were interesting to talk to at the racing. Casually mentioning about losing the front EVERY time into the infield and stuff like that. The last race Manwell gave my front wheel a little rub with his shoulder as he went past on the sweeper.
I took a few pics of buckets in the pits. Some are looking very nice indeed.

Well what a cool day's racing yesterday. I'm so pumped I want to do it again tomorrow!!!
Man the pace was just insane, I was well happy to be up there trying to hang on to the fast guys... Had a couple of really good battles with Rick, great to have someone to mix it up with, now I've just got to figure out how to ride faster to keep up with Tim, Gary and Karl...How hard can that be....:shit:.....
I have to say I think I now enjoy the reverse direction more, I had only run a few warm-up laps that way prior to this meeting, and I was a bit hesitant, but after yesterday I love it. :Punk:
Thanks to all the people that make it happen, see you all next time.

my guess is that tim's bike is going to be ALOT faster than it was on sunday next meeting.....
it just shows the level of skill you need these days in buckets to win.....i mean Karl mogan is a sponsored 600 sp rider and even some of the "bucket" guys were on his tail......
although you cant just have a "bucket" to win anymore you need a seriosly modded cb twin or a fast 2 smoker or a fxr150.....apart from that its hard to get anywhere

I see no one else has put it up so here is the website for Damien Toman (http://www.flickr.com/photos/dty1/) the guy that was floating around with the camera on Saturday and Sunday.
He has 533 photos of the buckets just from Saturdays practise day:eek: and hasnt finished uploading all of Sundays racing.
