So...
My hyoshit fucken carcked it at the end of my road, I was idling at a give way and all of a sudden it sounds like a chain is spinning round a shaft while theres a grinding noise as well and both noises are having a battle to see who can be loudest....
So yea fuck this shit I'm seriously about to write to hyosung and see whats up, first my chain then my brakes (twice) and now this unknown phantom of engine dooooom,
If someone is willing to help me then it'll have to be from the 3rd of august onwards after 6 on weekdays and anytime on the weekends....
yea yea I know, hyosung crap, but seriously, if you want to help let me know.
UPDATE: So the damage.... Cam chain tensioner went.... need: new Cam chain tensioners for both cylinders and gaskets, 2 inlet valves and 2 exhaust valves and a new head gasket.... all up about 540 for parts and 450 for labour.... yay.....

Hate to say it, but mine made a similar noise.
.I blew the rear Piston to bits taking the conrod and crankshaft with it. Was due to a cracked inlet manifold letting in air, and running lean. Only a few days out of Warranty, and Hyosung told me to get fucked.

Don't panic Bro. Don't read all the horror stories either. Just take it step by step with your local agent and see how you go.
First step is to talk to them and let them know theres a problem, so get on the phone first thing tomorrow and borrow their trailer and take it in for them to cast their eye over.

Consumer Guarentees Act plus Disputes Tribunal would be worth investigating here. Warrenty is not relevant to the CGA. Make sure everything is in writing and fully documented, and the dealer has the opportunity to fix it first before going nuclear.
Success may depend if you are the original owner or not.

Speak to them rationally, bloody hard though if they give the same crap about being out of warranty, but it still shouldn't shit itself with those km on it,who knows the bike shop might help with input to the distributer.Consumers Guarantee Act could be your friend, goods fit for what they were intended for, hardly say 2 yrs and 20000km old is over the top distance travelled.I know a couple bought a bed which was 3 yrs old,no specific warranty on them, but manufacturer replaced after store owner gave a replacement to customer first, the owner of business was happy to fix it first and worry about manufacturer last, keeping customer happy was first option.

This may be a dumb question - but is the Hyosung warranty not transferable if you have proof of origional purchase?

20,000km, serviced every 4-5,000km, fark it shouldn't just break!

Yeah if you're the original owner you've got a good chance with the cga 2 years ain't reasonable. Don't know about if it's second hand

Well i’m the 2nd owner, but I’ve had it since 6300km's..... So yea, I’m more gutted than fucked off,
There’s 2 options... new motor for $500 or if my flatmates right, it could just be 1 cylinder not firing, he had the same noise when it was only firing on 2/3 out of four cylinders on his 97 bandit 250

So it starts up and runs fine? You should be able to tell whether there is metal etc being thrown around your engine compared with a cylinder not firing.

Fair enough... I guess in these circumstances it's worth just getting the shop to have a listen and see what they say and go from there. :niceone:
Don't give up on the coro quite yet! :sunny:

Hiflyer, don't start it at all. Talk to the bike shop. Borrow their bike trailer and take it in there, or have them pick it up.
Let the bike shop start it. It might be something simple under the clutch cover, or the starter idler or something.

So I have removed the sparkplug from the rear cylinder to find this.... now how dirty are these? Would it affect the bike being this dirty? Sorry about the size of the pics btw

Mate, have you changed or fiddled with anything at all recently?
You could clean the plugs from the carbon with fine sandpaper. It's usually an indication that you're running a bit rich, although if you haven't changed anything since you got it then I doubt it would be that.
Are you getting a spark?
Better to just take it to the bike shop.

Am I the only one confused as to what is going on?
There is no way you are going to fix the problems you have outlined in post 1 through the spark plug hole.
Do you KNOW what is wrong with the motor, or is that what you are trying to establish?

Haha na I was trying to establish it previously but as of yesterday my rear cylinder has been taken apart and now I know for sure what is wrong :P probably should have stated that.

Ok, so the update in your first post is correct then?
Just the date listed for the update is the 27th of July, hence the time line of the posts threw me.
So is the distributor coming to the party with cost?
Who is doing the work?

Oh yea I wonder why that is... anyway I'm waiting for a response from hyosung NZ as to wether or not they will help, I had the motorcycle doctor check it out for me, and thats where I got the prices for the parts from, I havnt looked around myself for cheaper prices yet

Fooken good on you. Stick to your guns, but don't be obstreperous.
If they don't, ensure you keep receipts and take them to small claims.
It only costs $20.00 and a little of your time.

Yea I've also kept the receipts from the time when the pistons in all 3 of my brake calipers rusted and seized at 14000 kms... and when my clutch cable snapped on xmas morning at 15000kms... haha WOO!
And my partners mums family friend works at Russell McVeagh (nice big lawfirm) so he can draft me up a letter on Russell McVeagh Letter head which I'm hoping will help

Good one bud. She'll be right as rain shortly. I'm sure everyone will be interested to hear what the mechanic had to say.
