Anybody know if there are any stockists of the HLD helmet range in (a hundred k radius :)) of Christchurch?

Need a new lid and I like look and price of the HLD with internal visor, but not so keen on getting one (from cnell) without trying it on for size.

Unless it's changed very recently there is no official trade importer for them, just some guy selling them on TradeMe so very unlikely any dealers will carry them.
Here's the link to them FWIW: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/SearchResults.aspx?&searchType=0001-&searchString=HLD&x=0&y=0&searchregion=100&type=Search&sort_order=&redirectFromAll=True&memberToSearchId=1972570

If you do buy one, make sure it's got the ECE22/05 rating as the DOT ones are technically illegal for use in NZ (if that worries you).

One of the problems with dealing on the net is sizing, so if he wants to sell them he'll let you try for size.

The trademe sales are by a store in Onehunga cnell-com.

My googling on the subject indicates you're probably right, cnell is the only place with them.

Yeah, that's the same people as on TradeMe, Cnell is part of S&S products which is an Asian owned Chinese scooter/ATV importer, don't know much else about them but a few people on here that have the HLD's seem to like them.
I think it's probably a case of buyer beware and tread carefully seeing as you are a long way from them.
I'd maybe ask them for a written exchange agreement or something like that, just in case you get stuck with the wrong size and things go tits up - hey, they're probably fine to deal with but a bit of forethought goes a long way...

I guess the other thing to consider is replacement visors & parts seeing as there's no local dealer.

Good luck, hope you get something sorted.

Well I took a punt and bought one from cnell based on measuring my own head. Fits like a glove.

So anybody worried about ordering one based on not trying different sizes, I'd say just measure your head and go for it (I'd say pick the smaller of two sizes if you're right on the edge).

I have got one, Better quality than the FFM I had before, has all the right ratings. Got mine from CNell off t-m at the silly price of $99(no remarks about $100 heads please) only thing I dont like is the sun visor seems like it could come down a bit lower and the tint in the sun visor could be a bit darker. Initially the visor thing was a bit odd but you soon get used to it, really wish the tint was a bit darker though.

Very happy with it.
