We're starting a tradition here so it's nearly that time to say bye, bye winter :bye: and hello Summer :sunny:

Yep, it's nearly the season to celebrate the end of those long cold nights, bitchin wet rain, mangrips and slippery roads

So we're doing it again. Party at the Orrs Rd Ocowtree ranch. The last one was fab and this time we may even have an outdoor heater that heats and lights to see the barbie with :innocent:

Saturday 3 October 6 pm onwards is the date, the night after the first Friday Night Ride.

Plenty of beds and room to stay, just in case ;)

Riders from all over most welcome, most of the locals know where we are and those that don't just make an enquiry and directions will be sure to follow :wari:

Excellent idea-I will be there.....with extra lights (so i can make sure Tony stays away from the sheep:spanking:).
It will be good to have a chillout after the rather frosty winter we have had.

We have lots of positive things to celebrate:niceone:

So who was jealous that I got his sheep then:spanking:

Won't need lights as daylight till 8.30 ish,and cooking will be done maybe.

Positive things is true, any day above the ground is positive,2 funerals in 2 weeks one as a stroke and renal cancer put life into perspective for this kiwi, check up with oncologist this arvo, will find out if chemo is required.

Anyone with contacts above ask for fine Friday and Saturday for these events.

We certainly do, far more positives than negatives this year I reckon, even if those frosts have gummed up a few wiper blades along the way   And you had best be there (and keep Tony away from the lambs)

Only just, acowtree use to be rural but must be a suburb by now?
I remember this feckin' huge house that was built there in the 70's, owned by a bloke called Russell Swan, looked like a Hospital, is now (well was a few years ago) owned by some education type outfit to house students.

What am I then eh? Chopped suey?

Had a bourbon at my uncles funeral middle July, first one since June, nothing since.Still have beers in fridge from April scary that. Can reccomend my specialty of a Gasoline shooter-1 shot tequila and 1 shot of southern comfort, takes a few to get taste of,by that time you're pretty pissed. Not to be taken in conjunction with chemo(can encourage extreme chundering),they(oncologists) never told me not to drink(well they did but not that much),lesson learnt.

I have to be there every time, they pay me. That is if they want me again this year, haven't heard yet.

Has some good perks though. Get to talk shit to other petrol heads, get in for free, get to see some racing :crybaby:

Then they give me money (not much, but it is the thought that counts).

Be good if they don't start till later this year though. It gets a bit cold at start and end of season.

Is it security side, was asked to help at the champs last year, wanted to watch lol,not worry about pissed wankers.

The perks of free entry is good, not cheap at times $40-60 including programmes, food for 2.

Still if it covers petrol and really people do it for love of the game/sport.

Same as when crewing, pay to get in and only really watch the stockcars(or class you work in) then fix it or prepare for next race, don't get to see the meeting, but have to pay to help provide the service.

ok pre BBQ ride thread is up here (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?p=1129403786#post1129403786)

Be leaving Levin around 10am, down to wellywood (picking up any riders fr Otaki, Kapiti) to caltex at base of Rimutaka's, then over to masterton for a quick bite & pick up another 5 riders who are coming.

now depending on riders experience level & how my arm is holding up may see if the faster riders want to do the back roads of Alfredton, and the slower group can do a wee flick just out of Masterton & meet up at BP Paihatua, and a quick stop for supplies then over the track to Mo's place ..

if you plan on staying the nite, plenty of floor so bring a sleeping bag,

and since riders coming near & far will be a most excellent nite .. who is in ??

have set up Calendar event (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/calendar.php?do=getinfo&ea=attend&e=2148) for riders to add names ..
