Well, not totally, but a bit did fall off it yesterday.
Arai Chaser helmet - been wearing it for about a year now. Nice helmet, fits well etc etc etc, although you do need a degree in engineering to get the visor on and off......:headbang:
Yesterday I got back from the morning fang and put the helmet down on the chair it usually lives on when it's not on my head. It proceeded to roll off the chair onto the floor. I picked it up and found that the attachment at the back that houses the rear vent control had fallen off - two bits, now separated and now on the floor. Picked it all up and had a look. The whole thing is glued on with that pliable gummy stuff. Which surprised me a little since I thought they might be affixed a little more securely than that. But no, glue is the go.
I tried to stick it back on but it wasn't very secure at all. I figured a decent gust of wind would have it off again while I was riding along somewhere and I would never see it again. :eek5:
So I rang Dolds, the importers, who, thankfully, are based here in the Tron. They said "Bring it in to us sonny and we'll fix it for ya." So I dropped it in this morning and can pick it back up tomorrow.
I hope the rest of the helmet isn't held together with glue...
