Can anyone provide Police Coms data from today about SH1 north of Puhoi being closed for most of this afternoon?
All I know is, it involved a logging truck. I was heading back from Orewa and turned off at Puhoi because of the traffic, as did alot of people.

The road closed about midday and was ment to open around 5pm, traffic updates on the radio said 'logs all over the road bla bla' detours in place etc. I did hear it wasn't a good result so I am just being nosey really.

Radio news said car versus truck. Fatality from memory. Heard at 3-4pm news.

Yeah we know this. The official reports said the road was to re-open at 5pm, then the sirens went back off at 5:30. Fire engines race up Woodcocks Road, then turn around and head down SH1 towards the scene of the accident.

It was a logging truck v a car and sadly it was a fatal accident.

Came through at about 5pm, the road was clear then so the fire engines could have been heading to some other problem.
