Yes that was lot of fun today, but we have to cut ride short , got kids and wife waiting, if you know what I mean. We just manage to get to Tuakau on last drop of gas. I'm just happy to get my self and bike home, after that slide:shit:, one on graver bit on my side between car tires which send me to other side of road to other slide:gob:, manage to keep it on road bit of luck there.
Great effort Sharper for getting new tire and join as for ride mate.

I've got a destination in mind — it'll require a full day pass though! At least 6hrs in the saddle (return), but probably a bit more.
I'm going up Korumba's way plus a bit more to Mokau to see a mate. If you fellas wanna join me (and you're welcome to), I'll be leaving Shell Albany at 930(ish). Not sure of the exact route I'll be taking yet, but the aim is to take in the twisties.

Thanks for the ride today lads, bloody awesome roads up north. Not sure what reached the limiter first, me or the Fizzer. Dins limiter was adjusted a bit lower than normal with the young'un riding pillion. Hes made of stern stuff that young lad, no real complaining after 500km on the back of Dins R1. Looks like Diggyd wore out 200 bucks worth of tyre in one day, thats one week's worth of groceries down the gurgler.

Not remotely related to the SARSAR, but - seen this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUlX4qavDTk&feature=related) guy? Reckon he needs some pilot road 2's - they might help with his wet weather riding. Looks like splitting is legal in Greece too:eek5:

So how was the Coro today, gents? We didn't wanna tell you mate, but since you asked, Sorry it was bloody awesome. Dry as, not much traffic, no radars. My old fizzer only worked right once the tyres were up to temp so there was a bit of squirming going on to start with. We went the long way to Coro town then the long way back for good measure. Back past the chippy, bumped into Idol taking inthe view near Kawakawa. We were even able to take in some other sort of 'scenery' too at the Kopu public house establishment.

Glad you had a great ride with some entertainment for good measure. You know I'd have been there too...
Managed to fix up the mirror, indicator and brake lever myself, so BBII's rideable (at least to work and back). I'm getting it properly inspected on Monday to make sure there's nothing wrong. The shop says they'll pick up the tab and make sure BBII's back to how she was before their "whoopsie." Sometimes shit happens, sometimes we make mistakes, but good on them for taking it on the chin and wanting to put it right.

Hi Din, good on ya for heading to the funeral on Friday. Sounds like there ended up being a decent turn out of bikes for such a terrible situation.
There's always next week for a ride!
As an aside, one of the less pleasing things Reemit saw from the pub was a silver hilux mufti heading past the gassie. First time i've seen a farmers wagon being used by the law (un marked anyway)

Din, I know the protets thing has been done to death but here we go again, the Auckland Action Groups main antagonists, Mom and Maha the M%M's have an event planned for next Saturday the 1st of May 2010.
I'll be leading off a bunch of riders rom the BP Autobahn at Papakura and there will be three other groups converging on the Domain and then Queen street, then off to Mission bay for lunch.
As many riders as we can get would be appreciated.Though the laws are being changed and the ACC levies will be raiseed there is No reason in the world why we should take it sitting down.
Also these rides are going to happen regularly and we'd like to increase everyones awareness of the pending Bikhoi 2 this coming November 2010 of course in Wellington once more.
We are intending to keep these issues alive and in front of the general public and the minds of as many bikers as we can.
Your continued support and turning out is appreciated.
Heres a link to the event and a place to sign on as attending.

Thanks for that caseye, but I not going to let Nick and ACC spoil my weekend ride. My self not keen on riding to city and Mission Bay and I rather do 22, Coro,.... or ride north and check that Russell rd. Anyway if anyone keen for protest ride go for it. But if any of you keen ride south, we can meet up at BP at 10am, if anyone like to ride north we can meet up at Albany or west-gate. Lot of options there any suggestions are welcome. I not going to protest ride maybe next time but not on my Saturday ride this is third time M&M put it on same day as SARSAR ride and not even send me invitation to it, and Nick can go fuck him self , I don't think whatever you do now is not going to make any difference, but good luck to you all , let me know how you get on with it.

Got me a new tank for the KTM; extra 14 litres hung over the front added to the 12 litres over the back it came with
26 litres would probably get me to Wellington....................if i rode like a girl!

We'd rather someone called time and rode home than they tried to push the envelope and ended up crashing. It's never been about going as fast or as slow as anyone else, simply enjoying the company of a few good men and Women on a pleasant pootle in the country side.

As long as you got home safe mate, icing on cake on way back was turn of at Ramarama going through Hunua, and then over some hills and narrow roads, don't even know were. That was good scrubbing in of new tires, now they half warn. Stu is looking for next destination thanks for tour mate. Ok here it is you fullas and fullesses, a few of us from the SARSAR rides have decided to have a day out at the track on SUN 19th of Dec at Hampton Downs. So save your pingas and come and join us for a day on the track. the 200 smackaroos entry fee for a day on this track is well worth it, they run 4 different speed goups to cater for all levels so if you have a full set of leathers or a zip together 2 peice leather suit, leather gloves and proper boots you are quids in, otherwise beg, borrow or pilfer some (they do offer them for hire as well) and get your arse out there and join us. check out the hampton downs ride days website for all the info you need, google it you will find it and make your booking. Hope to see a few more of the regulars there.

Welcome to KB, Badgerclarke. :) Newbies are welcome as long as you remember the mantra, "Ride your own ride."
Don't try to keep up if the pace is too much — the Leader will always wait at intersections for everyone and the Tail End Charlie brings up the rear no matter what the pace of the other riders is in the group. Conversely, respect the pace set by the leader and don't try to hurry anyone along. Also, check out the Group Ride Guide (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php/107628-The-Group-Ride-Guide).
The Coro Loop is one of the best motorcycling routes in NZ (although at peak holiday times less so). It takes about 5–6 hours to complete from our rendezvous (not that we're ever in a hurry to get it over and done with — the scenery is just fantastic!)
... Can chuck some snags on the BBQ for ya if you end up this way on Monday.
