Squiggles do you get a tank?, without hyjacking your thread a mate of mine wants a tank as well, put an add in the online trading but no response, shoulda put it here to start with, any colour and doesn't matter to be dented a bit.

Make sure Squiggles has first digs at anything here then I would be keen to follow up anything on behalf of my mate.

If I can find a bigger tank you I'll sell you my standard one. Black and has a dent in it though (courtesy of a previous owner).

ps: Where's the best place in Canty to source a large tank for DR650? (I _hate_ hitting reserve brrrrrrr-urgh cough cough cough on the road and I'm planning on some trips where I just don't want to worry about running out.)

(Better qualify that with "if I can afford the difference between what the new costs less what I get for the old" I haven't even started looking at bigger tanks seriously yet. Just hit reserve today and it reminded me how much I have always hated the experience. :-)) Also did some distance measuring on http://maps.google.co.nz and decided I'd like a bit more safety margin.)

Big tanks... unless you can get one second hand you will have to buy online as no shops in NZ bring them in or make them anymore (unless something changed recently).

There's a heap of info on getting in tanks if you can get the results you want using the search function, not as easy as it sounds.
I have the IMS tank which gets me about 315km then I go on to reserve.

Now I've patched up the hole in my mid-pipe I'm getting 340-350km to reserve. Weird thing is I'm now gassing the front up over puddles and being less nana'ish with the throttle.

Previously I always got 310-315km stock pipe/SuperTrapp/GSXR.

Valve clearances need checking this weekend.

Cool, same setup here as well, I have a 170 jet as well in the box but mileage etc would suffer quickly with that I would think.

I've only put a tank and a half through my bike since I got it, but I only got 265km to reserve (IMS 18lt). That includes a few runs at Cnut. 170 jet thingy etc. ect.
