At the risk of being shot myself........I've delt with Kerry Duke lately from Dukic' Performance and he has been extremely helpful with making my old NSR stuff work a bit better.
Don't be shy to give him a call 021-715-547

Really! Is that the same Kerry Dukie that was testing for the Suzuki GP team back in the day and he shot by Kenny Roberts (snr) into Turn 1 at Daytona at 170mph with smoke pissing off his front tyre? Word around the campfire has it that Suzuki Brass said "We'd like to have you on the team, but you're a bit hot for us, a bit too radical"
Or is it the Kerry Dukie that was out on his XT550 racing his mate on the road, got into a LH turn a bit hot and ran wide at 160 kays right into the path of an oncoming VW Beetle. Luckily, he managed to hoist the front wheel at 160 and wheelied right into the front of the VW, jumping it cleanly and avoiding damage or injury.
Or perhaps it was the Kerry Dukie that used to go into Wellington on a Friday night in his 500hp Fiat Bambina and hassle all the boy racers?
Crikey, he does suspension work for mear mortals too? How lucky for humanity....

Seen some Hyperpro stuff in the flesh and its very well made. Its made by a Dutch company so that explains alot as they are as picky as Germans when it comes to precision etc.
If you can get it set up to what your happy with I can see no problems. And the money you saved can be invested in tyres (which as we all know are far more important then getting the last few hundreds out of suspension).
Of course you probably wont be able to get your shock revalved for every track you ride on like all the other 600 riders so your tyres will get torn to shreds in a couple of laps! Effectively negating any savings you made by getting a cheap shock.
Kerry Dukie is the agent for Hyperpro here in NZ right?

yes, the shock is in the bike already.
I think il just sort out the sag, and set the rest nutruel and go from there,
front feels pretty good.
I did'nt buy it to race with, just found one going cheap (300) and thought.. fark it,, must be better than stock, and its in really good nick.
I wanted to get sub 40's at taupo (low 40's on bt016 road)
now running raceteks, wish me luck :D

He's not the only one, that is mere repetition from the master. My favorite was offering to reprogram an RF ignition module (he's a software engineer too of course & embedded code in OTPs can be made to succumb). I had to leave the room laughing, missing the opportunity to ask if my Rectifier regulator could be reprogrammed.

He was actually. He was in charge of designing and setting up the computer system for Kiwibank when it first started up. That was the job that made him move to Wellington.

Please note that for many reasons including an element of the romantic stories posted on this thread the said personality is NOT accredited to service or sell our Ohlins product. No formal training ever took place and because there is no line of communication of constant and ongoing updates Ohlins users who choose to use this personality will ultimately disadvantage themselves. If anyone wishes to discuss this with me one on one at anytime please feel free to do so, independent of this (often ) kangaroo court.
With respect to the Hyperpro here is a straight technical answer; yes they are nicely made but the stock compression damping and piston design is less than stellar in a road race application, as is the progressive spring. It may indeed work better than the oem unit but it could be made to work a lot better again. Like Shaun says, who races with them worldwide? Certainly Ohlins, Penske, WP and Race Tech would be choices that on a technical level would be a preferable choice ( notwithstanding the cost reasons for your choice ) The NZ distributor for Hyperpro is based in Auckland and he is looking at pulling out of it due to poor sales and other issues.
I have just returned earlier today from an Ohlins distributor confrence in Sweden and theres lots of cool stuff coming ( information release is currently embargoed on some of the products ) There will be some very pleasant surprises on pricing. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE OHLINS DISTRIBUTOR IN NZ, CKT.
We have always tried to do the right thing by having a retail and dealer pricing structure but internet places a lot of pressure upon that. If it appears you can get a lower price ( and an honest lower price ) on shocks, springs, oil etc please talk to us about it first.
We also dont take parasitical activity lightly and its very often what these guys cannot provide that is not so honestly stated. Ohlins is a very strong company and has some very clever engineers, any one man band that thinks they can do it more cleverly is deluding himself and his customers.

Haha Dave, yes you are not the only one.... He turned up at an airshow that I had helped organise and I was wondering when he was going to tell me or one of the other pilots how to fly a proper display or something!
Going back years ago, he was telling anyone who would listen about his chopper exploits - apparently he may have been a gung ho blackhawk pilot once!
Sort of the 'Top Gun' of telling BS :tugger:

Don't forget about his vast experience in agricultural aircraft. He must have gone under another identity... as none of us have heard of him
