View Full Version : Lying down on the job...

Scoot must have been tired today, I know this because she decided to lie down on the job. I have no ass anymore... From laughing it off...
So, a few of us rode up to Mangawai - and at the cafe we decided it would be a cool idea for me to ride a certain kick ass biker chick's (refered to as "her" henceforth) brand new 3/4 litre GSXR. So, I got on hers, she got on mine, and off we toddled to the end of the street - I turned around at the end, and then toddled back to the cafe.
So, that was my story.
Her's was a little different. I'll let her decide if she wants to tell her side of it. Anyhow, we're standing at the cafe wondering where she is (given that Scoot is louder than a Metallica concert we figured we should be able to at least hear her)... So, I rode her nice shiny new 3/4 Scoot back to the turn around. And before I got there, I see her standing beside a laid down Scoot, looking like she had PMS and the willingness to cause damage. It was such a hilarious look on her face, that I couldn't stop laughing, apparently she could hear me laughing about 50 metres away.
So, total damage to her, aside from her pride, none.
Total damage to Scoot - a slightly scratched crash bung.
From here on, "her" or the kick assed biker chick will be referred to as MsCrashBungTester.
Priceless...!

Yeah, the 750 is sex on wheels. It's very nice, and very quiet. I think it needs some Yoshimura bling (but I'm obsessed).
She was so gutted, me laughing my ass off at her wasn't helping the situation... ZXRider had to pick Scoot off the tarmac, I was too busy mocking "her" (who shall remain nameless until someone else outs her)...

Sorry, I can't confirm that it's the person who SBP and Maha just outed, not because they're wrong, but because she'd be angry at me, and given that she was angry at Scoot, and Scoot ended up lying down on the pavement, I'm afraid the same fate will befall me...
Yeah, all jokes aside, at least Scoot is okay, and once MsCBT buys a new set of crash bungs, she'll be completely unscathed (bless her).
MsKaBC, you've been awfully quiet on KB this afternoon?!

It was more like 100 metres, and you sounded deranged. I did feel quite some relief though to hear you laughing rather than cursing :o

I'm thinking I might sue you for mental anguish :bleh:
The crash bung is only slightly scratched - are you sure it needs replacing??
Note to self: more slow-speed manouevring drills in carparks is required, lest I test out the crash bungs on my new pretty.

He reckons he would have been crying, not laughing, had it been the other way around...

Thanks for the tip on picking bikes up ZXRider. Now I just need to find one to practise on....can I borrow Scoot next weekend MBB? :dodge:

You have my bucket racer stored in your garage at the moment. You could always take some revenge on me....?
MsKaBC, you've been awfully quiet on KB this afternoon?!
I've been outside playing with my son - we were drawing pictures on the concrete with chalk. He likes me to draw bikes. I couldn't figure out how to draw one on its side though....
You crack me up.

Okay this is going to take a while:
The look on your face was priceless. Scoot went down on her right side, and I have a brand new right fairing and intake in boxes care of Suzuki San. So, my first reaction was to laugh at your misfortune. I'm mean.
You're going to sue me for mental anguish? Women!
Yes, the crash bung is getting replaced. Scratches are fine on useless yellow Ducati's (since that useless guy seemed happy to regularly lay it on its side), but since Scoot has remained unscathed (mostly) for the 5 years I've had her, she will remain so. And yes, you can borrow Scoot next weekend, but 3/4 Scoot needs a little, ahem, customising (starting with a full Yoshi and PC, race rubber, and some crash bungs...).
I would have been running and crying. I'm afraid of you.
And finally, (I've been chuckling as I write this), you wouldn't have any yellow paint left for your bucket would you? hehahehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahhahaaaaaaa!

I hate when my bike has a rest 'cos it always costs money....( I think indimacators and clutch/brake levers should be indestructible)

Well, I had a nice GSXR750 as collateral, and I wouldn't have been too upset at having a nice shiny 3/4 to start lightening and adding much Yoshi bling. I'm just having a daydream for a moment, carbon wheels, full race ti exhaust with carbon can, self supporting seat unit made from carbon, ISR 6 pots on the front, ISR master, braided hoses, carbon fairings etc etc... If you decide that the Bros is more your cup of Earl Grey, I'd be happy to take yours off your hands...! Is four bikes excessive?
MadBikeBabe has been good preparation for not swearing, I swear that Rosie is actively trying to destroy anything with four wheels - I've learned to just let go... :)
You're not scarred for life - seeing Carver naked would be life scarring. Poor Scoot, I went and took her some magazines and some flowers while she waits for surgery.

Don't forget the tail tidy!
You'd have the complete set then. Apparently 3 bikes is excessive...maybe I'll sell my bucket racer. Do you know anyone who might wanna buy one?

Tell her to get some liposuction while she's at it. :gob:

You'll find it's easier to wheelstand than Katie, and it's more fun when you twist the rotary propulsion modulator on the right bar...

No, I've ridden a few. I like 'em alot. But I have history with the odd 750 in my history of ownership over the years... I've got a k5 600 as well, and there's a K6 600 knocking about here as well. The 750 is nice, but I wish it had the grunt of the thou (which has about twice the torque...). But, the downside of the thou is the torque which makes happy into highside very easily...
I'll end up with a k7 750 eventually - I just need to let MsKaBC try riding Scoot again...

Yeah, I was thinking just like the supermoto, get 15-20 on the clock in first, then crack the throttle hard... would it come up? Would I have to crack it really hard?

I didn't use more than a 1/3 throttle all day. Oh, maybe one burst to half throttle. Scoot will wheelstand off the throttle in third.

Yeah, to be honest that is what frustrates me about riding the thousands...Riding the 600 or even the 750 you can be a lot more liberal with the throttle, but those thousands need to be carefully watched lest the crazy demons get let out of the engine. That said, it is nice to feel that front wheel coming up so readily...
