Yeah M8, did it last year on my DR650.

I described my experience as like taking a 'knife to a gunfight'.

The blurb says something like; all bikes must be rego and warranted. I think mine was the only 1 that was, I've never seen so many MX and endo's that had 'plates' on !!!

Take an endo bike and you will have a real blast, great organisation from VERY experienced crew.

Oh and, if it rains, it gets even more interesting:argh:

About what DJ said Chris, it's a trail /enduro ride disguised as an adventure ride, I've never been but understand there's a good range of terrain and your covering new country each time, no going around in circuits.

Yeah did it last year. Would be good if they actually restricted it road reg bikes but a bit spoiled by the MX boys in my opinion. Took my son who was new to offroading at that stage and it was pretty challenging but he learned heaps. Wear good tyres and take a map/gps as I had a reasonable idea of the area but still got lost a few times. It's at the hard-core end of adventure riding but the big bikes made it (quite a few DR650's, a guy on an XR650L and your usual DRZ's WR's and Husaburgs - plus the MX bikes).

We may well be doing it again to ride in - great part of the country to ride in. I posted a ride report here (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=86962) with some pics.

Ha ha! I hope so, I dont fancy wrestling the big girl through terrain like that. It was really cheap and is a bit of a project bike. Something for Wife and I to cruise around on.

I got a form in the mail today. Starts at Craw Museum at Mangatapere (just out of Whangarei) on Friday 13th Nov 1pm for a look around this private museum which has the world's only collection of every Packard model ever made :eek5: plus 62 vintage English motorcycles:2thumbsup.

This is optional but included in the $250 cost.

Then meeting at Trounson Park for dinner. Saturday is 250km of new trails, Sunday is 150km of tracks trails and farmland. Meals and backup crew are provided, but you need to book a cabin or tent site.
