My opinion is chinese eye bling to get you buying poor quality scrap metal.

Only worth it if your original ones are knackered or you are buying Brembos and new levers etc. Not a huge improvement, and expensive to buy ones that are actually better. Cast iron track rotors are the shizz though! not so flash in the wet though lol

The theory is that the shape of the disc resists warping and also constantly 'wipes' the disc pad to keep it clean and resist glazing.
Reality is that the average rider probably wouldn't notice, unless your original discs are absoloute crap material (rare these days) or rooted. And there is that added bling look if you're building a special/streetfighter or whatever. If you do buy them, spend the extra $$ and buy a decent brand rather than the cheap look-a-likes made of inferior materials. Plus what JayRacer says up there ^^

I'd agree with Mossy. But good quality properly engineered discs made of decent material will always outperform cheapo stuff.

Surprised you say that Jay. Cast iron though should work better in the wet than Std discs, my Iron PFMs certainly did. Have to use the right pad material with Iron & new pads have caught up a lot with other disc materials. they do rust a bit which is why they are avoided by bike manufacturers. Rubs off in first application.

Isn't the key with cast iron discs is to have a pad specifically designed for that material, probably not so widely available these days I'd imagine?

I ran full sinter pads on mine and they were good wet and dry.

They do look very cool :headbang:

I prefer the term 'Wave' to "petal' design - much more manly, and everyone knows motorcyclists wave at each other ......

Hmmmkay, I just thought I remembered reading someting about different pad materials (for racing) on cast iron discs. But it has been a very long time since I had a bike that used them. :)

Can you tell us more about how huge the differance was and what you found?
