Although they are not thought of as being the best ride out there at the moment, I cant help but think that Hyosung could be on the money here?

Anything that brings more racers into the scene or provides an affordable way of getting out there for those who otherwise couldn't, has to be good.

They need to make decent header systems for their 250's. Ones that don't crumble internally and sound like a stone in a tin can when you are riding.

Mostly they are good little bikes though. That one in terms of parts isn't hugely different from mine, and mine runs really well.

They will need super high quality oil in them - ordinary engine oil rapidly turns black in the hyo's - maybe overheating it and oxidising - dunno, but it doesn't look happy.

Having seen a couple of these engines mistreated, I do wonder how well they will go in competition. So far I have seen pistons are bores incredibly worn, and a smashed gearbox from mistreatment. In all fairness, I doubt the engine oil had been changed regularly on first example.

They might do something about the bone-hard suspension too... they are fine on a dead-smooth surface, but any undulation at all and they are airborne. A GT250R with some emulator lovin' up front, and some racetech valvin' up back would be just delightful. I suppose they aren't allowed to touch those bits for racing.. it's so simple though - why can't the factory do it? Surely it's only 20 bucks worth of steel.

Whats going to win the race? Hyoung or Kawasaki? With out having ridden either I would suspect Kwaka would win hands down.

I was told in some recent race, the hyos cleaned up first and second place. I didn't catch from the guy where or when that was.

If that was the first round of amcc, I believe 2nd was also last place in class!

Lucky that its only for 2001 bikes on up .....my 20 year old Spada makes more power & is lighter than both of 'em....

But I agree Wingnut, I think Hyosung is onto it with regards to the new prolight class. And I'll have to get one if I want to race Nationally.
Good on ya Hyosung:2thumbsup

yes 2nd was last place, but we raced with the f3 clas and with 27 bikes on the grid i came 14th over all and 2nd in the prod' lights.

the kwaka's did not show:clap:

ill be riding on nov 15th at the a.r.t day with konoichi and her 08 kawa 250

we shall see whos got more power. we might swap bikes to make the results more even.

:girlfight:this age old arguement shall end once and for all

really?

not too familiar with the rules, that seems a bit silly excluding the zzr250 and dealing with the vtr and gpx models straddling both sides of 2001 without any mondifications?

Wasn't there something in the rules for the new 250 class disallowing modifications.

This package has an aftermarket muffler...does that not invalidate it?

having riden both of them, the kawaka will win most races imo

the class allows muffler to be changed, but not headers,
