Just wonderin' from the guys here that know the lay of the land down in welly... I'm flying in on the morn of the 17th and current plan is that dogsnbikes is loaning one of his bikes for me to join the last part of the ride (picking up from the blubridge terminal)

I'm arriving in WGTN @ 10:30 and gonna cab into the cbd and have to be back @ the airport for a 4:30 flight (so by 4 @ latest really) and I'm a bit concerned with timing

Couple of Q's
1. Will I have time to get to an assembly point?
2. Will I be able to get DnB's bike back 2 the ferry term and back to the airport in time for my plane (considering how much damage we might to do to wellington's transport infrastructure ;) ) (maybe I'll be able to get a pillion back to the aiport from a kind bikie

3.am I expecting to much - and should I just make it to parliament and help out the guys there?

any advice appreciated - spent a bit of time in welly - so know the approx layout etc - but some local knowledge would be good...

I'm helping as a Marshall so can't do the pickup but I'm happy to give you a pillion back to the airport after the protest.

I was wondering whether we should display which region we're from during the Bikoi. Something like a simple sign on the bike that says where we're from. It could also be a small flag of the local rugby team or whatever. What do you guys think? It could be interesting to see where everyone's from and remind the public and media that we've come from all over.

I think we can all get a good idea of how we are going to be treated by the media by the DomPost "Last Worder" entry today. It reports on a "Hard Core Biker" (self-described!!) who has suggested that we report any injury as being caused by riding a mountain bike. Although the post was obviously tongue in cheek, the item begins

"Motorcyclists ... are conspiring to distort official accident statistics by pinning their injuries on pushbikes."

Well folks - that's how it's gonna be! :bash:

How totally wrong, rude and underhanded!!! I would never blame any accident I had on falling off a bike!! I only fall off ladders and down stairs!

Well I've got the arvo off work & thought best I find out when & where.

Well I've been looking for 1/2 hr on this & other threads & I've no real idea what time.

I had thought it was meet at the Duck pond at 1, but other threads say will arrive at Parliament at noon.

Should really update the very first post. No one wants to trawl through 36 pages for the simple info & I won't be the only stupid one:confused:.

Not sure where else to post this so i'll do it here. To all the guys going south between Taupo & Bulls yesterday. I was travelling north. Excellent form, i didnt see one bit of dickhead riding at all & was well impressed with you guys.
the groups of bikes coming the other way were cool too, it made my otherwise boring trip interesting.
Thankyou to all of you for being the voice of many of us that wanted to attend, but couldnt.
P.S, will Harleys actually run by themselves, or do they only work if theyre in pairs?

Fantastic start to this clip as the motorcycle wave approaches the city.

Interesting how we have to read the Herald to get better coveragethan our local the Dominion

Nice job Cowboyz. It was quite neat seeing you and Sparkles the video crew riding on by.

It was quite impressive to see how many people turned out on the side of the road and overbridges to have a look and lend support.
