Just a note people, there's no power down there yet so find a generator if you insist on using warmers. Or just harden up and warm your tyres like a real man(woman) ;)

As current lap record holder in the 1600cc Parallel Twin Class and first (with Devil) to go round HD facing backwards I think I deserve a better picture.

Excellent day had by all - big thanks to Darren, Rachel, Steve and the Crew, very professionally run (considering construction is still ongoing - race control steel portal frame and building installed in pit lane while track in use!) - What a track! - have look for yourself :2thumbsup

Thanks to everyone at Hampton Downs Ride Days for a great day! :niceone:
Jumping Jesus on a pogostick those bikes head down the pit straight at a fair clip! What sorts of speeds where you reaching Matt Bleck? Though when I was on flag duty at turn six I was very impressed with the amount of corner entry speed you can carry into it, it looked like a hoot.
All three days there so far have been fantastic though I cannot wait until they erect the marshalling huts. That'll make life easier!
Thanks to the riders for being very well behaved. :)

The one time I checked my speedo towards the end of pit straight it was only indicating 180 ish. Fast enough for me, I think! :sweatdrop

Puke is no longer the fastest track in the southern hemisphere! Go "HD" - there I've even named it. From this day forth Hampton Downs shall fondly be known as "HD". Can't wait to stretch my R1's legs out on it. Waiting for race fairings ....

I just walked in the door after being away since Tuesday last week.
That track is amazing!
I want to do it again!
What a great way to spend a week...
I am happy to say that I am part of the Hampton Downs Ride Days team, and am very proud to be apart of it.
The track and venue is only going to get better. Turn 1 was my favourite. 6th gear tapped, drop down 2 and commit into it
Simply awsome!
And Steve only saw 288....?
Pffft! My speedo was reading 299!
but i wont mention that the bike had been geared down so wouldnt trust that reading one bit... hehe

So turn 1 is what? 140km/h+ or something if your balls are big enough?
Is the last turn onto the pit straight as long as it looks? Seems like you'd have your knee on the deck for a week to get around there lol.

The last turn is fairly long, yes!

Bring knee sliders.
The combination of the long turn and the grippy surface does wear them out a bit.
