This is a cheap big bore sports tourer that is set up and ready to do some miles over summer, has a few marks but nothing unsightly. Just get on and ride! A few miles on the clock, but plenty of life left in the old girl yet, these motors are bullet proof.

$4000 or near offer. No trades.

Will post up some better pics shortly. Note mileage may change due to nice weather!!

And, importantly, this is an Aussie (E 24) spec bike... it fuels VERY nicely, and E 24 bikes have more lift (about 1.2mm) on the cams, too. They perform considerably better than the Canadian/US spec ones

This bike goes bloody well! :niceone:

 Well, it's about 6 weeks or so until the new toy turns up, so it'll get a bit of use. Figured someone might want to get a cheap big bore tourer for summer, so I though I might as well put it up for sale - otherwise it'll get traded.

Thanks mate, Pussy reckons it's worth more - but I got it cheap as a bit of a tidy-up project and something to keep the miles down on the CBX, had fun doing that plus clocked up about 10,000 trouble free km's between last summer and now. So I'm really just covering my costs and looking for some extra cash towards the new(er) bike.
It certainly has been an eye opener for me and a few others, that you don't actually need to spend a fortune to have a fun, reliable bike. And as you say, it's still capable of embarrassing the odd person on a later model whizz bang bike :)
It's funny too, because when I got it I wasn't even looking for an RF and hadn't really had much to do with them before. They certainly are an under rated bike.

Err...yeah, but lets not get into the rider rating thing what with the whole ACC bollocks going on at present...but I hear what you're saying.... ;)

Just scored an '05 Ducati 1000SS Senna with very low km's, so I need the room in the shed! :D

Pussy does indeed reckon it's worth more!
It is very quiet mechanically, and in real terms has about $3ks worth of suspension alone on it.
It's a good bike, folks

It's a fuggin good bike!! Course it is mate, sadly though the Playstation generation wont understand how it could be,they may well search through games 1 through to 500 but as it doesnt feature (think it does actually lol)then it wont fit the image.:innocent:

You can almost keep up with it eh Pussy? ;)

Got some riding to do this weekend, and then I'd probably prefer riding the RF down to Wellington on the 17th rather than put more miles on the CBX so I'm not panicking yet. After the Wellytown trip I'll put it on TradeMe and see what happens, otherwise the dealer I'm getting the Ducati off will trade it (seeing as I bought it off him 'as traded' in the first place!) so no stress.
But if someone is looking for a cheap RF900, this would be a good one to get if I say so myself. :D

Done. Subject to inspection /nothing implied and no offence intended/ and the owner willing to wait a max of 3 weeks for cash upon pickup of bike. Have done my budget and will be ready 1st week of december.

So does this mean that there is one less RF in the naki now? I was eyeing it up just for the seat, after the welly ride the stock seat on mine is getting its matching orders.

Know how you feel dude. Apparently I'm riding it home from the 'naki for Hans so the seat better be comfy... :pinch:

Hay its all down hill going that way should be a lazyboy ride......but next time I do that 700 km in one day I am taking a sheepskin or a team of chiropractors as a pillion

Amen to that. My suspension is pretty hard at the best of times. 700kms in one day would leave me mighty saddle sore, not to mention with a crick in my neck from not being able to stretch out in my leathers due to being such a fat bastard. :pinch:

lmao .....I wish I was a fat bastard not a thin skiny light weight bastard, at least that way I might have half a chance of keeping the rear tyre on the ground.

Why did you have it set up for a 75-80kg rider, surely it would have been better to set up for your own considerably heavier weight?

That's rich coming from somone 2 feet shorter than me that weighs at least 20Kg more..... (and has a preference for the larger ladies....then again, most of them are larger than you I suppose!)

Soon to be one less..... :)

I know what you mean regarding the stock seat, much more than an hour in the saddle and I was looking for excuses to stop. The Corbin made a huge difference even though it was a tad wide for my liking. The ride to Wellington and back was done with only a stop for gas with no detriment to the posterior. Worst part was having to concentrate in the pissing rain and dark on the last leg, not the most pleasant ride from Himatangi back to NP.

hehe
the furtherest me 'n my good lady rode on "ruh-ruh" (my daughter's nickname for the RF) in one go was northern Denmark to Amsterdam. geez that was harsh. all 'round. wrists, ankles, knees, neck; not much to do on those european motorways but sit in one position for hours on end!
you certainly got some trick bits on yours! Hans got himself a mean bike!
