Has anyone got any options for bringing in a bike engine from Wesley Chapel, Florida over the next month? USPS Priority international is a little, um, pricey.
many thanks in advance,

Really? 12 and a half KGs? Pretty light bike motor.
Certainly hope you're not calling Sues son "ugly" either. People that live in glass houses should certainly never throw stones.

Probably have it to your door for a grand (kiwi), excluding taxes and duties.
Edit: That's airfreight. More likely 800 actually

Anything's doable. Piece of piss outta the states actuallyOk does the seller pay freight to send it to your agent/forwarder/etc? Ie, do we bid on the ebay auction and pay his US freight, or does your agent pick it up? How does that work?
We're keen to get started.

I had a 86' gsxr750 engine crated and shipped by boat over to me thru kiwi shipping
http://www.kiwishipping.co.nz/kiwi-shipping/
was fine, don't recall the total cost but it wasn't much between $150 - $300 NZ. Course by air is better if you're in a hurry.

I've heard good things about Kiwi Shipping for sure. Just make sure with any forwarder you use, that you get full pricing on the import side of thngs too.
I can have my San Francisco office collect or your supplier can deliver it to their warehouse, whatever suits.
If you sea freight it, you'll be looking at a couple of days to the CFS, with probably one week cut off to allow packing and container delivery to the wharf, then aout 14 days from Long Beach, another 2 for offload, two for the CFS to unpack. Assuming there's no MAF holds or problems, about 21-30 days total depending on service.

Not joking. they import clasic cars mainly and were happy to chuck my wheels in the boot of one of them. They have containers leaving for Auckland and Tauranger every few weeks.
I had to pay overland delivery to there depot $60 US and Kiwi Shipping are charging $50 US to ship them here.
Made sure the value was under $400 NZ to avoid GST ;-) by creating a invoice via the interweb. Will prob be charged MAF cleaning about $30 NZ then there all mine.
As I said, email Matt and he will give you low down on how to do it. Cheap!

This is what always happens when you try to do things on the cheap.
Why not cancell it and simply have the issue fixed locally?

Coz he's probably already paid for the new motor.Yeah thats it. Basically they have this week to sort their shit out before I organise alternate freight or request a refund with paypal, and then post all the gory details on the internet of the failed transaction. It won't be a pretty sight.

So what happened ??
CookMySock

So what happened ??Hehe ok.
We got the engine. It took months. Plenty of hard lessons learned, some of them of our own making.
The first problem was the (ebay) vendor was the sensitive type, and we asked a question about his return policy, and he freaked and instantly blocked me.
So we bid using my mates ebay account and win the auction, and that began a huge trail of false names and fake email addresses to get the money in his account. Next, we explain it in great detail to the freight company, hoping like hell they would understand - we were pissing into the wind hoping for that.. it WAS a convoluted story, but a little attention from their part would of cleared it up. A few other "things" happened too, but I'll let that go.
The engine cost about a grand all-up - about the same price for a bare cylinder head, so we came out of it pretty good.
We'll use kiwishipping again.
The end result is the wifes' big shiny noisy black 650 vtwin brute is on the road and she adores it. Couldn't ask for more than that. The feeling of having her bike built was really great. Looking for more to do now.

There are many invoice templates available on the internet you can use or get the supplier to invoice you for less than $400NZ.
