Not just for the cagers but for us as well. They want to reduce the ACC bill start teaching people and reminding that we are there. Like the think campaigns in the UK

I've already passed on the link to this one: http://www.public.tv/channel.php?group=4EW9-3P8K-9MF4-C6GO-YVU5 to the Land Transport and ACC team looking at motorcycle safety (way before all the latest nonsense). Predictably, I didn't even get an acknowledgement.
Whilst I think that ACC and others have massaged accident statistics to justify a fee hike, the root cause is a poor standard of driving compared with other countries (both motorcyclists and non-motorcyclists). Until we raise our standards, particularly situational awareness; the toll won't reduce. I recommend any rider and car driver to watch the above-mentioned video to see the high level of situational awareness demonstrated.

The Banana Republic of NZ is not interested in actual safety campaigns or enhancing driving/riding skills. That would be counterproductive in raising revenue and increasing job numbers for "bums-on-seats" idiots.

:pinch:They are a bit.
But it wouldn't hurt to shock the public a bit to encourage looking for bikes, we've seen enough gruesome drunks over the years.

The same question's crossed my mind actually.
I also wonder why it's not possible to look to countries like Norway with an excellent standard of driving and simply copy their processes / teaching. Isn't looking for 'best practice' standard practice?

wish it was that simple but societies have different ingrained attitudes, there's no sudden overnight cure to the way we are in NZ, even on a ride that is supposed to be "cruisy" there is always a bit of trying to keep up with others where in places like norway they seriously dont have that
