Plenty of doom n gloom lately re rego hikes etc but whilst sitting out at the beach surfcasting this morning the sun rising and the sea as flat as a pancake i was reminded of just how lucky we are,to top it off i got lucky and caught my first Elephant fish of the season:wari:No points for guessing whats for dinner, might just as well carry on and turn a great morning into a great day and am about to drag the old TLS out of the shed and take a ride over the Pig Route to Naseby and have an ale, sit outside and toast whatever gave me the good fortune to be born in such a place. As you were.:apint:

Likewise.
Up at 5, went for swim, mowed the lawns, worked on the '37 coupe and now about to cruise off to an engineering shop in the T-bird - to get some steel for a 'bush-bath' project CB and I are working on....ah bliss, a sunny warm day and all to myself.

Frankly I was too tired to even ride the bike this morning...some people have an easy life, but I don't think I am one of them...:zzzz:
But yes, when I do get time off, I do appreciate the chance to be out in the world around us...:sunny:

Agreed, if an increase in levies that pay for essentially free healthcare for everyone is the biggest of our worries then we can't be doing too badly.

Ah, just back from a lengthy cruise in the Thunderbird on a beautiful sunny day, gave it a wash and tucked it away, now just opened a bottle of Speights and thought I'd visit my friends on KB before looking out the camping stuff for the Back-to-Basics motorbike rally this weekend then I might feed the chooks and collect the eggs before I open the next bottle of Speights.
Life sucks eh!:woohoo:
Sometimes this place IS a great place to live!!

Oh so true, the beautiful Bay is calm now, in the evening light, air is warm, visitors are wandering around holding hands or children or beers. I have smoked & fresh snapper in the fridge for my tea, beside my beers. The dog will go mad to see me when I get home & I'm going for a run on the bike tomorrow. All is well & I'm happy.
Thanks for the opp to post something so good.

'tis cool to read a mellow thread for sure. I had a lovely little well mannered protest ride in the naki today then rode home. The thing is home is about 10 minutes away from protest central but the weather was so nice it took me a couple of hours to get home.
I am miffed about the ACC stuff but when you're angry you can lose perspective eh. There is a lot of stuff to be thankful for.
Nice to have a chill day eh 98, don't reckon much to that fish though mate, not the prettiest piece of food I've seen. Peace brothers and sisters :sunny:

I love this place we live in. I work Mon - Fri in Auckland but most weekends I'm outa here! At the beach, at the track, out on my bike, out in the camper, out on the boat and most time with my fantastic family right along side. Its easy to get down with the day to day grind but my moto is "I work to live not live to work" I turn up each day just so I can do the things I enjoy with the people I enjoy being with. I cant think of a better country to do it in either (and I've been to quite a few)

Oh bravo to that, fairly well travelled my self but sometimes ,maybe down a country lane in the back of beyond, sometimes, I have to pinch myself, just to be absolutely sure that I'm really here and not just dreaming it in a cold n wet semi detached in gloomy old Englandshire.

I can see that mate, I have a virtual mansion overlooking the sea here for the same price as my ex council semi in overcrowded, wet cold gloomyville city UK.
Yet another reminder how lucky I am to be here, you'd have to have in the region of $1,800,000 to have the equivalent of my house back there, mind you it would come with a lovely view of a chip shop or the gas works or a Mosque.

See that's another great thing about being here, the inhabitants are aware and proud of what they've got going on. There may be somewhere in the world that's a tad better, I don't know, but it's so good here it ain't worth the search.
