In light of the ACC debacle, I reckon, by popular acclaim, we should rename JOHN Key as DON Key...for some unknown reason, Don Key has a better ring to it in my opinion...

Keys has learnt lifes lesson well, "smile and all will be your friend" and never never commit to anything, let others make the decision, when they have smile again stick your hand up and say "what do you think of that"...yup works most of the time but not all of the time...

Sounding a bit like the envy brigade there Skyryder, is there any other way to do it?
The "parasite's" (if you must) are more likely to be hanging off the tails of a "successful" man, rather than the reverse, in my life experience!
Key's persona and image are far superior to Helen Clark's but his party have done nothing in the areas of "my" concerns!
Crime, law and order, corrections, to name a few!
And his gang of socialist heathens have had the affront to attack my own personal interest of riding my motorcycle!
What we require most in NZ, is "less" government, less crime and more reward for industry and "earning" of our right to be here!
Meanwhile Key has handed Rodney Hide the poison chalice of dismantling the dysfunctional city of Auckland.
In doing that Key has effectively smothered Hide's call for "three strikes and you are out" against crime!
Crime does pay but only in New Zealand, a situation grown intensively by the Liabour government, "your" government if you are to be believed!

Envy??. Jeez Oldrider that one's is a bit below the belt. My politics were well and truly established before John Key came on the scene. Give me some credit.
Interesting take on Keys appointment of Hide. I’m not too sure I agree with it given ACT’s interest in local body government. Still if it turns to custard Hide will get clobbered. If ‘Party Central’ is not up and running for the World Cup, and there now is some doubt if it will be, Key might get some of the blame for that. I’m sensing that Key’s popularity has peaked, still it’s a remarkable perfortmance given all the lies and bullshit this man is capable of. Just not too sure if it’s all down to Key’s smiley face or the electorate has not got smarts to see this man for what he is; a liar.

I rather suspect that the Labour party is just as implicated, if not moreso over the years, the difference being that the press is largely ''left''. So reporting is largely selective.

Hes got a lot of catching up to do to match the last lot.
pete376403

The "last lot" never provided material asssitance to deliberately destroy the New Zealand dollar
"John Key and Andrew Krieger and the attack on the New Zealand dollar.
In late 1987 Andrew Krieger attacked the New Zealand dollar. He earned for the Bankers Trust bank the sum of $338 million in just a few days. This attack was so threatening to the dollar and the economy that the then
Governor of the Reserve bank had to call the Bankers Trust bank in New York to stop the attack.
John Key claims that he only started to work with Andrew Krieger in September 1988 well after the attacks when he claims he started to work for the Bankers Trust.
The problem with John Key's version of the story is that Andrew Krieger did not work in the Foreign Exchange business at the time. Three different New
York Times articles written in Feb 1988, June 1988 and September 1990 state that Andrew Krieger left the Bankers Trust bank no later than February 1988. He only worked from April until June 1988 for George Soros and after he left this position he left the Foreign Exchange business altogethere until he returned in 1990 during which period he did not much trading
The only period in which John Key worked with Andrew Krieger must have been before December 1987-February 1988.
Why is this important?
Andrew Kriegers attack was the first ever attack of this magnitude on a currency jeopardising an entire economy. If John Key was aiding and abbetting a man who for greed alone was prepared to take huge chances with the livelyhoods of New Zelanders than so was John Key.
In an interview John Key spoke admiringly about Andrew Kriegers attack and he saw his position as only following orders* and no morality whatsoever
in almost destroying his own countrys currency."

Hide and co, and indeed Key and co, are about as far to the Left as Genghis Khan!.
There are no right wing pretenders for government in NZ, they are just left or less left of centre!
Libertarianz are the only party with real right wing leanings currently on offer in NZ!
The 1984 (so called) Labour party were the closest thing NZ has ever had to a "right wing" government, well in my life time anyway!
And they were "still" way left of centre!
This current mob are as far into big government "State" control as any of them!
Lets face it though, New Zealanders are predominantly trough dwelling socialists by birthright anyway, so what else can you expect!
Politicians fashion themselves to match their customers (voters) expectations or they just don't come Monday! :brick:
Eeny meeny miny moh, catch a socialist by the toe! When he squeals let him go, eeny meeny miny moh! Red, Blue, Green, etc, it will always be socialist NZ I bet yah!

Hide is right on one thing, though - Key is a "do nothing" PM - he seems to be there for the ride - he just likes being PM and spends his time trying to look good. Has he done anything of note on these issues...
tackling unemployment – nope
wages – nope
decrease gap with Australia – nope
climate change – nope
taxes – nope (except for the rich)
crime – nope
higher standards for ministers –
So what has he done
abuse the parliamentary process – yep
increase totalitarian and surveillance laws - yep
set up to gut ACC, turn it into an insurance company and open up the choice bits to Aussie insurance companies - yep
legislate laws that reverse the fundamental presumption of innocent until proven guilty, in respect to property - yep
not actually have any written policies - when asked what the government will do on virtually anything, just grin and say "let's wait and see"
fuck me...he sits around playing vain glorious and lets his party (and Rodneys) do what they like, as long as he looks good and cons the people into thinking he's gods gift to NZ.
Still - you 'all voted him in so whatever he presides over, take it or change it.

Don't forget the distraction he has created by tampering with the dysfunctionality of Auckland City!
I don't hold out much hope for that little enterprise, Auckland always has and always will be dysfunctional!
It has a majority of dysfunctional people, just look at the election results for Auckland!
As for your observations listed above, even without my correct prescription, I can't find any fault with that!
As for short-circuit, he chose his name well but it's a shame they took away his avatar, I too am a Johnny Five O fan!

Now that you lot have had a lot of finger pointing.....claiming that your parties are better than each other. Lets see if you ready to admit you are both wrong.
What has ANY government done to the benefit of the public?
This is not a rhetorical question - I personally want an answer. It is very easy to knock down, but very hard to build up.
I have never seen a single thing that benefited the whole public. And have voted accordingly. However my vote does not count.
Nor does 20% of the population who voted the same as me.
If you put those figures into plain english - 4 seats in parliament would be empty if out votes were counted. Instead your votes fill these seats with fat fobs who fall asleep.
So who did I vote for? Was I wrong in my vote? Have your politicians done any better? Should my vote have been counted?
