The trip actually spurred some Czech guy to do the ride, they were on AT's, beaut photography. He came home but for some reason these guys didn't?:crybaby:

Hello Eddie, Im still here watching whats going on. We are off to Hokitika this Thursday will be back in Wellington on Tuesday Re ACC and then I will be out to play after that 21" wheel is back on the front of the Ruffy. Its ready to roll so to speak. See you guys again soon.

Fuck that's ballsy. Dressed like that, they could easily be mistaken for CIA or US SF and hung drawn and quartered by Talib. Saving grace is that Wakhan is tucked away in the NE. Pretty much anywhere else would be suicide.

I had a we lookie at the yamaha at north harbour last week and thought it looked kinda big, maybe even top heavy?

I Love the bike however unfortunately to me all that vid showed was how much of a pig it is off road.

Nothing he did looked effortless & flowing. I'm pretty sure he's a brilliant rider to keep it together however about 45secs into it I reckon he was gonna highside it.

how does he do dat Nordie, camera affixed to some sort of boom off the helmet (obviously rotatable) scheeze your helmet would need to be snug and tight and the boom quite solid - would be a bit of a bugger if you caught it on some trees

Not rotatable, 6 feet of alloy tube with counterweight in a "C" channel mount on the helmet, held on with a couple of zip ties that'll break easily if the boom is caught.

Yeah, I see the website does not allow you to select HD, but when I run my youtube downloader (freemake) it is getting it in 720p. Re-encode for android = 10.3gb file, makes me appreciate my UFB.

I think I rode a Scorpa at the Clarence a couple of years ago. it had the WR 250 motor in IIRC.

Yup, I believe the Sherco's & Scorpas had WR 250 motors. The 280 must be in house. A 250 would be a good buy, plenty of spares...

That's what I figured from the sound & the round cylinder head, still looking for the expansion chamber though. Must have something to do with the under seat silencer?
Looks like a cool bike but I have read they are not that well put together, then again that could be a point of sale issue.

The trialsy bikes don't usually have much of an expansion chamber.

Yup, LOL, I sore that. These adventure racing chaps are tough, I'm sure he will be back on the KTM in a jiffy. I used to ride in areas like the Brecon Beacons, used to spend all day just trying to keep the bike moving. Shattering when wet.
