As per the other thread (no, not the scottish one)......

Saturday 21st November.

Meet at the Riverhead gas station at 0830 and bugger off north from there.

Route.....towards Puhoi, Wellsford, bit of a loop towards Mangawhai to stay on gravel, sneak across SH1 towards Maungaturoto, Ararua, something beginning with O that is obscured on my disintegrating map, Dargaville then either to Bayleys beach and on the sand to Glinks gully, or into the northern Pouto peninsula via road.

Have a heated debate then decide how we get back ending up at either Warkworth or Puhoi pubs for a beer. :woohoo:

As usual, it's all roads with the optional possibility of a beach ride and I would plan on getting back early evening sometime.

Anyones welcome but I would expect to keep up a reasonable pace to cover the ground in time. :scooter:

Sent an email to Barry to let him know.
Have a good day.

Ya big blouse, we'll ride past your place just to annoy you.

Weather????????

I'm not sure that "Latte riders dependant upon the weather" has quite the same ring to it. It's summer, it'll be fine.

So I am un-invited?

Never, just taking the piss as usual. One of the great problems of communicating by written word, the subtleties are all lost.

Yep, got that, as was my comment about the weather.
Was going to say I am coming anyway, but not on your ride, on my own one which just happens to follow your exact route.

Spent today up the south head of the Kipara Harbour, was a nice day for a ride(weather deemed acceptable).
Photos here. (http://picasaweb.google.com/c.p.whitehead/ADVWilsonsRdMuriwaiBeachRimmersRoad#)

Was gonig to go all the way to the tip, but ran out of time and just ended up going south from Wilsons Road.

Was going to log the gps route for advroutes.org, but my gps unit ran out of power, and my half-arsed 12v power thingey I put on my bike failed (shoddy soldering work by yours truly).

Hey Iain - I be there. Your route from Riverhead Service station? Meet ya at Waitoki again like last time? Or somewhere else on the way towards Krippner / Weranui, depending on which way you planning to head, like SH 17 / Blackbridge & Postmans by the Dairy Flat tennis club?

And I will not be bringing a camera :sweatdrop

Sounds good, I was planning Ararimu valley then Waitoki, say around 9? then Monowai & Krippner to Puhoi and onwards.....:scooter:

I thought Chris wasn't actually going to be part of the ride - I understood that he was going to do his own ride about 10 m behind us? But nice of you to include him - I reckon we might as well invite him along. May want to make him sign a disclaimer though? ;);););)

This disclaimer better give me a full refund if the weather turns out to be shite ;)

Naah - Wx will be good tomorrow. We deserve a weekend without scrappy stuff around for a change, dontcha think? Have now gotten the boat ready 2 Saturdays in a row, just to wake up to rain & wind on Sunday morning & put it straight back in the shed, so this weekend has to turn out good :done:

Yup, weather looks good........ish, I've just got to stuff a route of some sort into the GPS tonight and I'm ready. Lets hope it's not too dusty.

Sorry, I can not make this tomorrow as my dad has had a bit of a turn and I'm hanging around here rather than wandering around the countryside.

PM sent to Chris & Johanne.

That is a shame, hope your Dad is ok.

I think that this is not such a bad cancellation, as with the tides being the way they are, it might be best to do it when the tides are a timed better.

Johann, are you still keen to do a ride? I was thinking of doing a mini version of this one and just do the south head of the Kaipara Harbour. Could stick with the meet at Riverhead at about 8:30, or Hellensville at 9am, duck onto the beach at Rimmers Road up to the top then back down and out via Wilsons road, will be a quickie as the tides are on the way in at this stage (low tide is 7:45am, high at 2pm), but I reckon we could do that and be home in time for lunch, which works better with the rest of my saturday plans than the full trip we had planned.

Keen?
