Have watched it over & over, great to see/hear where your gear changes are, lines, passes etc:niceone:

Shit Helen, dont use that as reference......I use a different line and gear each time to make it more exciting for me........

That race I was stoked to knock 2 seconds a lap (low 2.03) off my previous best full lap time.....How much faster can a fat buggar on a std engine bike go? If only I had the $'s I'd be getting a Brendoom high HP engine built and giving those pooftas the learn ahead of me! Still I'm happy with those sort of results with what I've got.

Think most people set PB lap times. Think it was due to a car endurance race the week before, no rain since and some decent sun out for a change.

Hey Gav, where do you get the J.Lo rear ends for the fxr? Did you make it yourself? I might have to get one, but I will need a wide one to cover my arse.

Cheers, is he local to chch? What sort of price do they sell for?

Also I've finally scored myself a FXR to do some bucket racing on, however there is a problem with the engine, not sure what yet, its arriving today.

Awesome, cheers for that.
I've got that FXR at home now, stripped all the fairings off of it but will remount the front fairing in a slightly different position. Tried to turn over the engine but its real tight, put it into gear and rocked the bike backwards and forwards and the engine hardly moves. Any clues?
Also needs some new tires, new fork seals and a new chain.
Nice little project, any help/input ideas would be gratefully received.
Cheers

Yea possibly, I have a feeling it might of been starved of oil for some reason and has partially seized. I will try and track down a secondhand engine but I've heard they are like hens teeth to get. Have put some crc into the barrel and will see if I can free it up and go from there. Thinking I will still need to strip the engine down.

A secondhand engine (if you can find one) will quite possibly cost as much or more than rebuilding the one you have (depending on whats wrong)

Bren_chch has all the parts for them

Alright cool, thanks for that. I will contact him then and see what he's got and work out what I'll need. Definitely looking like a strip down. Any bike mechanics needing some panelbeating done? :2thumbsup

Managed to get the FXR fired up today after a bit coaxing with the jumper leads. However the engine will run for a bit then suddenly stop and I mean stops dead. Then it can't even be kick started or off the starter motor. Something is locking it up but have no idea what. No obvious knocking sounds when running but there is a strange noise. Have touched base with Brendon.
Hopefully nothing toooooooo major, fingers crossed.

Almost sure its the big end, I cant remember seeing a piston seizure on a fxr , but plenty of big ends. Easy fixed just book it in at the MotoFXR repair centre (brens place)

Hey cheers Yow, yea I'm back from my week away playing golf and will contact bren again this weekend and get a diagnosis. But it sounds like you are right thinking about it. I'm going to try and get to the battle of the buckets but just to watch and will get the bike all set for the new season. Need to sort out some sticky tires and a new chain.

Have been in contact with Bren, dropping the engine into him tomorrow for the replacement of the big end.
Is there a limit to the size of the plate that your number gets put on? Probably a silly question but however, there it is.
Have made up some plates from a scrap car bumper.

Holy crap, didn't think i would get such a response as that. I have something made pretty close to those measurements, haven't had the numbers done yet as I haven't registered a number yet. Still have to join the necessary clubs. How strict are they on the sizing if it is only bucket racing?
Thanks for all the info.

Not too strict, but there is a MNZ ruling so you need to be close and use the correct colours. You will gain less attention if your bike is clean and tidy and everything is in order.

Cool, i did a measure up and i'm only 5mm out on the height so should be pretty right I think. I just need to make some mounting brackets to fit them on to bike now.
