Do it!
Shoot the dog and go KTM!
You'll feel much better about yourself.
I went Rmz450 to ktm 300exc and havn't missed the 4T in any way.
Try get an electric start model as that makes life much easier.

Good stuff mate.

But please don't develop the "KTM is best, everything else is shite" attitude that some owners seem to get, though I am open to hearing that you bought one and like it a lot more than your old bike, if that turns out to be the case.

Would you tell us if you did miss the RMZ? I doubt it.

I can't believe the no of people who complain about kickstarting bikes.

I was unsure at first but now really find I like my new bike!
The is other brands like TM Racing, GasGas and the Jap enduro bikes like Kdx, Crms etc.
Ktm may not be everyones cup of tea, I like mine!

The Rmz450 was a good bike but not a good first bike.
Just too much of everything for me, height, power and weight balance.
I did have the kickstart down to a fine art of 1 kick starts on the Rmz.
It was awesome for blasting through things and jumps, wheelies etc but I prefer the more enduro style of bike and riding.
But hey, that's just me.

i think its just evolution? we all start on jap bikes and love them, but after a while you wanna try somthing else, never said i wouldnt go back to a jappa either. I love bikes not brands.

Totally, Its gotta be sexy too. my CRF was an awesome shape, with a wide ass scorpion tyre on the back. 07 exc 250 fits the bill too.

how does the EXC rate in regard to traction compared to my old crf 450? it was really grippy and could climb slime.

vazza

Depends how you ride it, depends what tyres you use, depends what airpressure you use.

All standard dirtbikes are great for everything, its how you use them. All about the rider lol

4 strokes are going to climb easier, more torque down low, if you compared to 300exc well that can crawl up hills

ye road registered would be the shit duno about tyre usage tho

Maybe 2 sets, one ok for both tar and dirt, and one set dirt only.

thats how i roll:2thumbsup

but like vazza said it really does all come down to whos pointing the front wheel, KTM was my preferred choice because they seem to be more advanced than the jappa 2strokes and they are always on the improve

exactly, KTM doesnt have competition from the japs when it comes to making an enduro 2 stroke, so if thats what you want, you either buy a KTM, gasgas, husqvarna or TM, and most people just go what the...? when you say any of those except a KTM.

wheras when it comes to making a mx bike, almost every bike company makes a 250f mx bike, so theres plenty to choose from.

If no one rode enduro and everyone rode mx, then there wouldnt be such a ktm w&$kfest, but seeing as their essentially a minority to the enduro market, they may not be the best, but definately the most popular and common. its like if you didnt ride a jap bike 20 years ago you were strange, now if you ride an enduro bike thats not a KTM your strange :buggerd: :Pokey:

Your bang on there Noobi. On that note. I'm looking at gassers too. but like you say. There's way less to choose from. Seems to be heaps of them down south for some reason??
