Would be a real shame to sell the 450 but when did you get your 400 crasher? Some incredible machines show up on Trademe, and so many minters seem to come from USA, they get used a couple of times then left in shed for 30 years. I guess you've already discovered the super excellent VMX mag.

Tell me about it. I really don't want to...but it's gotta go. It's that fucking fast I WILL get another one next year when I get some moola together.
I got the 400 from Carl at Motorad...knew he had it and it's that particular model I've always wanted. Had a 400C as a kid...but lusted after the 'N'. I've been buying all manner of spares for the thing via ebay...so if/when I fuck it I can keep it running. And yeah...excellent mag!

Cooling fins will always be way 'cooler' than water cooled, gotta love these raw beasts. 70's was the golden age of MX. For me, the most exciting era of the sport. It was such a huge leap forward.
Really like the idea of VMX. Have fun crasher, but keep it shiny side up!
(Old guy, maybe think about selling the Buell. Us vets need to make the most of dirt riding time, get a road bike again later. How dare that scumbag steal this part of your life?)

They certainly made some huge leaps forward around the late 70's early 80's!
Fins indeed!

Go on, grab that CR480 too. You'll regret it if you don't!

Owned an 83 CR480...won a national beach racing title with it. Great bike but the left side kickstart was a BAD idea. If it's yours on TM...it's a nice one though!! I have thought about it don't worry.

i once saw a man have one of the biggest crashes i have ever seen on a CR480, centerpunched a GS1000 at the end of a straight beach racing at Ohope he must have still been doing about 70km/h when he hit, nasty crash it was to,

Nah, not mine. Always wanted one though. Sadly everyone I know that has tried vintage MX has complained about the costs and difficulty getting parts. Sorry to drift off topic but its a free bump for your for sale thread anyhow.

Not an issue getting parts if you run a Suzuki or a Yamaha. Bits for them seem well easy to find on ebay. I think in the boom time of moto-x in the States...they were the bikes most people were racing. I've managed to get all sorts of great near new bits for my 400. Can't wait to race it and beat the fuck out of it! The RMZ has sold...so cheers anyway!
