Well my first time at Wanganui I wasnt expecting much on myself at all,
I just had my front forks back from CKT and my Ohlins back from CKT as well after Robert did some work on the gear,
Christmas day left got to the track at roughly 2:30ish got signed on and scrutinered, Had Shaun help set the Sag settings up and we were pretty much done for boxing day I went for a walk of track to get a rough understanding of Manhole covers etc,
Boxing day dawned Mcdonalds for breakfast to the track riders brefing bike on warmers fuelled up found out the Virgin practice was first so went out on that to get a rough idea of were everything went, first impressions these bumps are pretty big and im going slow.
First 600 Qualifying:
Out and took about a lap to settle in then started going for it taking Shaun's advice not to try and go fast tho It was a real eye opener and I was loving it I qualified last with a time of 1 minute but I didnt care at all.
Second 600 Qualifying:
Out again this time knowing were I was going and had something to work on, I ended up geting some balls and pushing abit harder, possibly pushed abit to hard up through the esses, as I managed to fall off the side of the bike and got back on again narrowly just missing the hay bales by the cemtery abit of an ironic place ot think fark this could be fatal.
I ended up qualifying dead last but was withen a second of Stevie and Chris so was pretty happy I had some people at my pace.
First 600 race,
Shocker launch into turn 1 bikes every were and being a race in a group trying to roll on faster than I should the bike gets all loose I ended up going down a lap to Nick and Glen and a few others just on the final 2 corners of the very last lap but I didnt care at all I loved the racing.
Second 600 Race:
This time a much better start and passed a few bikes around the outside at turn 1 they managed a much better line into the Warehouse corner and I was trying my hardest to get on the gas but keep away from the hay bales I ended up having a really good race most scary part was my knee dragging at Robert Holden and my slider getting caught in a manhole cover that unsettles the bike a bit.
Overall the racing was good thanks to everyone for there support.
Big Thanks to Shaun Harris for his help and advice meant alot thanks,
Thanks to mum and dad for spending Christmasday on the road travelling and all there help over weekend.
