This bike is quick and runs like a dream. It features,
Shortened Yoshi RS3,
New Factory Pro Jet kit,
Rear seat and cover,
Original tool kit,
WP fork springs,
Aftermarket shock (FG engineering,2k worth)
Excellant tread pilot powers,
New chain and sprokets(front and rear)
Oil change and filter just done(semi synthetic)
New thermoswitch
Spare cooling fan and other parts
New REG (12 months)
Will have new WOF when sold.
Not mint, but very tidy for the age with lots of nice extras.

I havent had the bike that long, at 47 I thought that I should trade my old Buell on something sportier before I get too old. I have discovered that I am too old, the riding position is too aggressive for me, I need a cruiser + my wife wants to share motorcycling with me, the R1 doesnt suit this.

I want to swap for a cruiser, either a Triumph or a Harley. Smallest size Harley would be a 1200 sporty. Doesnt have to be mint but must be reliable and not need $ spent on anything major. Must be WOFd and REGd as well.
Contact Pete, 021 444 620 or petegrennell@slingshot.co.nz

Peter before you go down the cruiser track i'd suggest you have a crack on a naked like the xjr1200 or the honda hornet 1200. Then have a crack on a VFR750/800.
Im NOT saying you wont like a cruiser but reading between the lines you may find oneof those a truck load more comfortable and so might your other half

The 1200 might be ok, though I dont really do much touring.

If I were down your way I'd let you take my Bandit 1200s for a ride. It's a good bike for what you're talking about. Honestly mate a HD or Trump cruiser may be a bit to layback - The Hornet is a naked which doesn't suit me, the bandit is more comfortable even for a pillion, goes real well, tonnes of torque, more get up and go, more ability in the corners and you get all of it with out the cramped up riding style

FZ1 - that's what I'd update to from mine
CB1300
VFR800
ZZR1200
zx12

I would encourage you to go and take a few for a test ride before you swap out for a tar ship and regret it

The monster is less agressive in the riding position than the R1 If its an s4 then reasonable poke. The factory suspenders are pretty good but unless already done NEED to be propperly set up otherwise the ride is fairly harsh.Onebig bonus isthat they use tubular bars so if too high/low then you could fit another set.
Your riding partner though may not be happy as the pillion area is quite spartan and high above you.
I have one in stock now so just went to have a sqizzy

It is a 900 ie. I havent had mention of the S4, not sure what the difference is. Any clues? It is Yellow, not that colour means much I guess, just may be a clue?

If you like your Yamaha's then I agree with Frosty and Smokey, either a FZ1 Fazer of an XJR1300 would be great, no need to go overboard and buy something that scrapes it's bit's all over the place just yet.

If you are interested in a Triumph, I'd look at the Bomnnie or Scrambler over the 'cruiser'.

basicly there are two 900 ducks that look very similar.
The S4 has a LOT of carbon fibre bits.
Just ask if its the two or four valve version.

Yeah...my missus has decided that after years of watching, its time to get involved. I must admit that Im in no great hurry, I am enjoying the bike and it is sharpening me up a bit.

Monster doesn't seem to have a particularly comfortable pillion position. That seat is VERY small.
It is also not very powerful if you are use to the R1.

So what kind of riding do you do?

Day trips with/without missus for seeing the countryside, and gettng into that "zone" where you are so focussed on the next corner that it is like meditation? Or longer relaxed cruizy trips with missus to see the countryside?

Not sure the Monster would do either frankly. And it will have high service costs. (being a Duc)

it wont be long then before she wants her own - so just get what YOU want, and forget about her - she gets to choose next round...
