Yeah, when I booked it that was a spare weekend, the dates for the nats changed after I had everything booked.:weep:
At least it will give the riders a chance to score some points before the top riders come back

I will have to get back to you on that. I have to give first option to the experienced marshals who do all of the summer series and the VMCC winter series.
If you would like to be listed for a regular spot as a marshal, it can be arranged.
I will also be putting the list together of marshals for the VMCC round of the National Champs.
I will PM you as soon as I can confirm.

Good reply mate, it is NOT as easy as many think to be a marshall, the write actions need doing NOW, Not after some chit chat as such.
I have seen some very dangerous actions from fill in marshalls mate, stick to the trained experienced ones if at all possible, or 2 experienced and one learner for the future if possible.
Go chase ACC for some funding for safety training of marshalls ha ha, Fact, it could be justified in reducing injuries?

Excellent points there Shaun.
I remember back in the good old days... Well, actually only 15 years ago, we used to get a bit of a brief, and then "Let Loose"!
Were a few incidents that could have been done so much better!!!
I designed a bit of a mock training course as a Training Brief at work, and the instructor was extremely surprised to learn that there was no real course for Flaggies at all...
In his words, "You can't just send them out there, they might be an idiot and you would never know!"
From what I have seen at the track and read on here, we are actually a long way forward with the experience level of the flaggies.
They do a pretty good job.
Maybe i should design a full course, and get ACC to subsidise the traning of Flaggies??

Yes I would be all for getting some formal training for the Marshals
We are building a base of really good marshals between PMCC & VMCC but will always need extra training. Even just "socailising" and discussing different ideas is a start. We will be doing that on the Saturday night.
I was surprised recently to find that a lot of people have never been shown how to use an extinguisher.
When I first started Marshalling (back in 1975) we were all sent on fire fighting courses and we all had ID cards that graduated from grade three through to grade one. You only went up a grade once you had enough signatures proving experience.
I want to look at getting some kind of formalised system in place for all volunteer training, but, at the moment all my time is going to trying to improve the Summer Series.

Hi Nigel,
Been draging the chain a bit trying to find the dollars involved. Will have sorted by the deadline though. (Paeroa's cut off is the day after ours)
My wife has bought Max and Andy's RG150 so she can have a crack at street stock. She will need to join the club. Is there a form for joining the club online anywhere? I cant find one on the website.

Oops, that was a typo, its just a rgv150. Spoked wheels so thats off the cards, but the has already hit me up to have the bike painted pink, and to get the graphics on the leathers i gave her changed to pink.
Yeah, im sure she will have a blast - good thing its a two day event, so she has the chance to get the hang of the bike and the track before lining up on the grid.
Posted my entry for Paeroa this morning - yeehaa bring it on!
