Hey all,
just wondering who on here has a streetfighter or a customised 'bandit'. Im more interested in seeing what people have done to customise their own bikes rather than getting a cool looking one from the shop.
Also i wanna see YOUR bike, not the stuff available all round the net.
I'm getting a rather healthy paycheck this week so my ZXR should be fire breathing soon. I painted it matt black the other day and it looks the shit, now i just gotta sand it all down and get it done professionally!!!

I wish I had the money so I could do some proper modifications to my CBR. At the moment, I'm barely paying for all it's repairs
This is what I want to get for it, the front fairing off a 2000 ZX6R

So damned aggresive looking, I want it!

i've found a front fairing i want. Gotta get it from the UK tho. I'm thinking of getting my nanna to bring it over but shes already on her way here so it'll have to wait til next time :wait:
i was thinking i could always copy it and make it myself but im having trouble finding a cheapish set of projector lights, you know like the single small lights on the Ducatti 999 etc.

i've had my risers i made chopped and drilled by the nice guys at the RNZAF machine section, hobsonville air base, fit snugly round the steel MX bars i got for $10.
I went to sort out mounting them and fount that the my top clamp is hollow beneath and is totally crap for mounting the risers so it looks like im gonna have to make a new top set aswell (solid alluminium block)
Im gonna paint the bars (not sure what colour yet but possibly matt black :msn-wink: ) and then organise some extra-long cables etc, at first i thought the originals would be sweet but i have since found that the choke atleast is way too short - yet to check the throttle, clutch and electrics.
The other problem i have had is that the front electrical loom is all intertwined and everything goes back through a single earth - which makes it kinda difficult to install a new front fairing without a serious amount of playing and fiddling.
oh well its gonna look mean at the end of the day :devil2: :Punk: or is the "phat" :D

im in auckland. Theres a guy in auckland setting up a business as an NZ portal for streetfightering but at the moment it seems like his services are a bit sparse and a tad expensive.
check www.streetstyles.co.nz the site has looked the same for the last 4-5mths but he does reply quite swiftly to emails :niceone:

I find the power delivery of 250/4's to be a bit too difficult to try getting it sideways on gravel. Have a go on a straight section to get it sideways with the back brake. That's always fun - put in the clutch, then progressively apply the back brake and shift your weight to one side and see how sideways you can get it. :niceone:
So whats with the streetfighter title and rabbiting on about fairings? This is a real mans streetfighter, the Triumph Rocket 3!

Im doing a bit of a streetfighter conversion on my 98bandit600 and am looking for a set of usd forks preferably91-94 gsxr750, if anyone knows of a set in good condition any help would be awesome. I have just purchased twin 80mm chrome headlights, a bellypan and a rear hugger for less than half what i was quoted for just the lights by 2 mc stores. If you want details on supplier post a reply. Im also looking at getting a 4 in to 2 underseat complete exhaust. Has anyone done this before? Is it worth doing?

I've got half a streetfighter (well, half arsed anyway) Just about ready for paint (I painted it myself the first time and it looks like crap)
I still need to chop down the front deflector and do something about the bars.
When I bought the bike someone had fitted bar end mirrors, unfortunately they'd chopped the ends off the bars to screw them in and the mirrors foul my hands when I'm in a hurry. It's a bit disconcerting braking hard when you can't shut the throttle down.
They're still clip-ons and a bit short for good leverage, later on I might try some flat bars off risers and see how they look, but stretching the wiring could be interesting.
Maybe sort a belly pan for it to tidy the guts up a bit.
I'll get some photos up once it's been painted. Shouldn't be too far away.
Sedge.
