There is that, but I guess it is not much different to signing up your 10 yr old at the local Rugby Club, or Gymnastics, or skiing, or.....
As a kid my family were into the equestrian stuff, at 12 my sister and I were competing in Jumping events (A & P shows, sports events) and riding to hounds with the Maramarua Hunt Club, activities that I suspect give ACC the shivers now days. I guess if the kids aren't being preassured to perform it's all good.
