Hi folks,

Just a heads up that 5 scooters and a bike have been blown over this morning at the bike parks on the corner of Featherston Street and Waring Taylor Street.

It's pretty exposed there and it looks like a bit of scooter dominoes has caused some carnage.

I park on the other side and always make a point of pointing my bike into the wind as much as possible in windy Wellington days

Aye, that's a wild wet windy corner that one... it claimed my bike a few years ago... much better by the Featherston and Leuven

What a place to live...

I reckon! Asides from the damn wind, Wellington during the day has more weirdos out and about during the day than K'rd at 0200!

I lived in Auckland for a few years before I moved to Wellington and I would rather live here than shitty ol Aucks any day!!

Don't know about you but I prefer an 'interesting' life over a boring predictable one anyday..... ;)

... all of which raises a question in my mind - is it better to have the bike on the centre stand when you are parked side on to the wind?

Your Bandit...I would. Some lighter bikes might be better off on the ss, opposite side to the way it's blowing.

The wind is great...blows all the shit to the cities that deserve it.

I got blown across into the opposite lane this morning going along Oriental Parade - thankfully no cars coming. Tomorrow I'm taking the bus..

I love riding in the wind down here, adds to the excitement and makes splitting a little more daring. Best advice is to relax and if need be put the knee out in the direction the wind is hitting you i.e if wind is hitting your left side jut out your left knee....

Hmm. I am sure it was Augie who said Wellington sucked so much that was why it was always windy, not the other way round.
