Will be interesting to see if there are actually enough of them in existence to make a class? Hopefully the backyard engineered dogs amongst them don't spill their guts all over the track, too. If those two points don't show up as problems it should make for a cool watch :) Especially if they can field 10+

Ah side cars REGULARY blow out and seem to do about 3/4 of a lap before they decide to get of the fucking track.. then they take 900 hours to rescue, example at nationals when we needed to remove the bodywork to get one out of T1's gravel trap.
I thought VMCC got rid of motards and WERE'NT going to add any more classes so for once we can get full races for a whole meet - instead of " sorry we've had to cut it to 4 laps for the last race and street stock pack up your not getting another go "
If more than 10 are there all year then ill stand corrected.....i give it 2 rounds.

Regulary blow up? really? so how many have blown up this year?, I 'll tell you FUCKING none at the nationals or any club round I've been to,, in fact the last time I saw one go that was terminal and punched a hole in the motor was at least 3 years ago
Yeah cause of course all those solo riding munters get off the track immediately and none of them have ever held any meeting up through crashing

Ok, lets argue this civilised since I just deleted three lines in the interest of not starting a shit fight.
Chair crashes rarely need any more than a tow out of the gravel, making them quicker to clean up than a two wheeled off most the time.
They also dont require medical assistance as often, making it quicker to get the next race out since the ambulance must be available during all track time.
In the event that the race in front of them runs long due to a crash/ambulance mobilising, they do not need to be sent back to pits to allow for tyre warmers to be put on as they dont use them. Meaning no fucking around as soon as the track is clear.
But all that aside, why the fuck should two wheeled riders get four times the track time as a rig? There are two riders on each one to enjoy the time out there.
The class is fucking huge overseas, why are there no Kiwi's of note riding?
Motards had a chance to do their thing, and had numbers been big enough there is no way they'd have been dropped. Let's bring back the chairs, and give them the same choice. Especially since there's no north island series for them to ride that I've ever heard of.

There might be a couple who would be capable of qualifying but if they didn't get lapped they'd be very fortunate
When Stacey was winning over here he was the bottom end of the field in Europe
Also incredibly expensive to do

Ha yeah a good one this little roo is!!
Well when i was on the commitee last - about 3 years ago we dropped side cars as they had fields of 5-6, and as the year progressed it would dimish.....they would pay thier money, enter and then sign on........ and GO HOME. They got 3 stamps in their log book so they could compete at wangas and paeroa... and then F&*K off....
The reason 2 wheelers need and deserve more track time is cause we do all the orginising, the only guy i know is andy - who did the BADD 3 hr.
Its just another breed of motard for the club..... motard would moan all year " manfields tostraight" then " our races are to short" then 6 guys would do both motard classes...
If 3 wheelers wanna grow and get people into the sport they need to start giving back. the also need a developement or entry level class - i think the biggest prob is that the guys that are "new" to the sport ride old rigs with old donks that DO BLOW gaskets.
the top rigs are very impressive, Get them to the track AND get all the other guys WANTING to progress - like what road racers do... then maybe they will be an asset to have around... just seen it before so hard to shake the old memories dude.
If a chair club held meetings - and road races came along took up a spot in the program and did what chairs did to VMCC.. had only a few competitors... chair guys would tekll us to get f&*ked 3 years later.

Righty ho….before all get really excited and turn this thread into another bird fight…let’s save ya feathers….
Yes the rig’s are coming back to VMCC however only for 3 meetings out of the 6 Winter Series 2010 .
At this point I think I need to remind all….we all get our licenses from the same place and if I recall correctly it starts with MOTORCYCLING. For our sport to grow we need to move forward and that means trying different things or re-hashing where we have gone before and reworking it to make it work for everyone....this is not going to happen overnight but will in time if everyone works united.
As for getting in a full racing Programme…..there are so many variables no matter how many or what classes we run there is the potential for the meeting to run behind or cut short… one variable will always remain and that is rider safety and care no matter how long it takes and how many laps we have to cut down to achieve this.
I hope to see many rig's on the grid as I hope to see many full fields of the other classes we run....

They got 3 stamps in their log book so they could compete at wangas and paeroa... and then F&*K off....That's pretty cynical, but I wasn't there so I'll take your word for it. But the only reason I raced vic club way back when on my FZR was for the same reason.
The reason 2 wheelers need and deserve more track time is cause we do all the orginising, the only guy i know is andy - who did the BADD 3 hr.
Its just another breed of motard for the club..... motard would moan all year " manfields tostraight" then " our races are to short" then 6 guys would do both motard classes...Right, the rest of us dont bitch about things at all. The entire fraternity are moaners who wont get off arse and do something about it. Shut up shop and call it a day shall we?
If 3 wheelers wanna grow and get people into the sport they need to start giving back. the also need a developement or entry level class - i think the biggest prob is that the guys that are "new" to the sport ride old rigs with old donks that DO BLOW gaskets.I thought the only way to go racing on a chair was gonna cost a fortune to run at a decent clip. Yet since Jimmy and I expressed interest, Warwick sends me a link every couple months to a decent chair for sale, for less than a pro twin bike. A set of tyres will last a season, (unless you're Scrivy and make 'em last TWO), and there are two people sharing the cost.
the top rigs are very impressive, Get them to the track AND get all the other guys WANTING to progress - like what road racers do... then maybe they will be an asset to have around... just seen it before so hard to shake the old memories dude.Yeah, all the two wheel riders do everything they can to progress, that'd be why the nationals run record LOW entry numbers at the moment.
If a chair club held meetings - and road races came along took up a spot in the program and did what chairs did to VMCC.. had only a few competitors... chair guys would tekll us to get f&*ked 3 years later. You're probably right about what they'd say, but doesn't somebody have to make the first move.
There is a segregation between sidecars and two wheel bikes I'd like to see done away with. How many people have gone for a wander around the pits and stopped to say g'day to the chair guys at the nats? They smell bad I'll grant you, but they are fuckin cool! Funny as hell and having a ball. The only one to watch is that Warwick, doesn't drink so he cant be trusted.
Have a look at an LCR with it's clothes off too, fuckin engineering is from another planet.

Who turned their back on whom is knida beside the point. There are always gonna be smaller numbers of chairs at any meeting, because it appeals to a smaller percentage of bikers. So why shouldn't we do a bit more for them than they can do for us? We are all still bikers after all.

Your all gunna say yeh yeh what would i know but here it is anyway......
I help on grid for VMCC, I am a HUGE motard fan & was gutted to find them gone:blink: BUT i must say that replacing them with sidecars was an interesting idea,
I had abit to do with the rigs at Nats (manfield) & yes they are by far the most interesting bunch of people i have ever come across, Yes it's going to be an interesting time,:shifty:
Drew i must say the idea of you & trash having a rig is pricless.....This i have to see...
I can't see why people are getting so shit faced about it cuz isn't it more the fact that your out there doing your thing? Who cares what you do it on or in
So lets get the class to be full guys.....

I'm looking at a rig next weekend funnily enough and will be chatting and spending a bit of time with a few teams this weekend too.
All going well, the Mair brothers will be united putting our talents to greater use than banging skulls together arguing about who's better on two wheels.
All things going well, we wont end up with a reputation similar to the one we both share now :)
Good on VMCC for looking forward once again.
