WHen you were younger there must have been a bike that you looked at and just lurvvvvvvved.
Maybe you bought one or perhaps you just treasure the memory - much like the one of the girl you used to sit behind in social studies and wish you had the courageto talk to.

Anyway - Pictures. Of the dream bike dummy, that girl is long gone...

I so wanted a Thunderace when they came out, but they were too expensive at the time.

2004 ZX10R. I owned one, black, custom tune etc... seemed to keep me on the wrong side of the law, so traded it. Still got a soft spot for it.

I never really had a dream bike growin up, I rode what I couldn't kill basically, and I killed a few bikes lol....... including drowning. As for the girl who sat in front of me in social studies class, she was butt ugly buck toothed daughter of a redneck....... but the girl from maths, well thats a different story all together, Tracey, you did good lol..... Maths wasn't her only gifting, she was an accomplished rider as well.

Mine was a Ducati Darmah, loved the gold on black and the sound! The reality was slightly different, it was expensive to look after and not the best to ride. I loved it anyway.

One I now have, one I don't expect to have in the next 5 years, another I brought the latest model instead, and the other is basically impossible to get.

Dreamed of owning one for years in my teens then I got one in a little bit of a sorry state and spent months restoring it to its original glory. Rode it around for a couple of months and sold it. I think the passion was in owning and restoring it rather than riding it. If money were no object it would be in the garage now with all the other classics I wouldn't have sold :bye:

For me it was a Z1000 A couple of Mates traded their GT550 Suzy and CB350 Honda and secretly went out together and bought a brand new one each (On finance I guess) then just turned up on them - blew us away!

New to biking, 14 weeks on a bike wearing the yellow badge of courage (L plate).

So it's not such a case of what bike did I want but what bike DO I want in 5 months time when I've got the big 6F license.

Have been looking at Honda Shadow cruisers and Suzuki Boulevard 800s. But yesterday when in the bike shop I was shown the new Hyosung SX7 which replaces the Hyosung Aquila GV650 - it's a 700 cc cruiser, EFI, nice low seat, good looks, and nice price. Only problem is I'd have to wait for a couple of years before they appeared on the 2nd hand market.

So it's probably the Shadow or Boulevard.

Had for about 2 yeards a 1983 Kawasaki 750N Spectre. Shaft drive 750 roadster. What a simple build, low maint and firendly ride. Nothing tuely outstanding, surely isn't that pretty but I enjoyed ridding this one.
Only downside was the rear air-shocks which leaked air pressure at every big bump, which translates to 'constantly' in Wellington.

Of all the bikes I've ridden it is one I would have again if I could have it new.

This beastie came out a few years after I started riding. It was the bees-knees and a mate owned one... briefly... until he wrote it off on the Piha road.:angry:

I had similar, but the technology moves forward.

An RC30 was what I lusted after the most in the two wheeled world.

<img src="http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/Gallery%20%20A/Suzuki%20GSXR750%2089%20LE.jpg" style="width:640px;"/>

Followed closely by the GSXR750RK (aka the GSXR750RR)

Think that title was for the Mach 111 Kwaka.

'twas my first bike. The "widow maker" title belonged to Kawasaki triples.
RDs handled very well for a bike of that era.

Jeez mate....that could have been the one i had. Same awesome red as the one i had. It was such a machine. Great bike. 220 kph no prob's.
My bike of choice would be the Hurricane or/and the T160 Trident. Mate brought the very first new one into NZ in 1976. Blew me away at the time. Would also settle for a Norton 850 Commando.
