Out riding at the weekend, me and a mate decided that liking KTM's is a 'disease' for want of a better word. The other guy we ride with owns a KTM and is quite proud of it (especially how they come ready to race!). Looking at the other KTM owners in the near vicinity (we were at the Berm Buster), it became rather apparent that there should be a club for KTM owners, KTM Anonymous. I say this because every KTM owner we saw had at least 3 or 4 KTM branded accessories (such as boots, hats, jackets, tents, toasters and friendship bracelets). I think its time for a bit of honesty here guys, lets admit you have a problem! :-)

the same nob that pitched the KTM tent and put on his KTM riding gear!

I probably shouldnt have a go at KTM owners though - I was the one sitting out the days riding with a blown honda clutch (and to be informed that my friends feel that honda should include a good book in their spares kit!)

I was parked near the "KTM GUY" at taupo on sunday.
He would have spent thousands on his orange gear! All of the above and like undies and ALL clothing.
Maybe we can call it Orange Fever? Or Orange disease?
Maybe they are just releasing their inner Ginga?

Buy a bike with lots of colours and you can co-ordinate better.
I like my stuff Mud colour.... it's white or black before hand.

Haha yeah must have been one of the 50 or so KTM bashers there.

Dont get me wrong, i've seen qweer eye for the straight guy, i understand that people need to accessorise, but I reckon the first accessory for any bike must be some bloody skill! i'd definately not wear matchin gear, i'd just look like too much of a tool when i was stuck somewhere!

KTM Guy (TM) who parked next to us at the Brass asked what was in the orange sack. Seemed a bit put out when I told him it was recycled KTM bits that we were burning...

what else would you do with recycled KTM bits? mind you, KTM owners would probably send them back to head office so they could be installed on 'new improved' model bikes with the KTM patented latest technology

No good giving them to the scrappy you'd probably have to pay him to take them.

Yeah, the price of steel has dropped massively in recent years. So has the price of alloy, but KTM dont like making products with new fangled technology such as Alloy-metals so thats no big deal!

I wear matching Fox Honda Racing gear on my XR when racing but it was bought 2nd hand off of a KB member many years ago.

I don't usually get accused of accessorizing tastefully on normal rides though

I can kinda understand the KTM gear and stuff ....But whats that KTM toaster about ..? so you get up and slide your 2 slices of bread into the slots of the bright orange toaster ,waiting as the toaster brands KTM into your toast..things are getting kinda weird when you cant eat your toast without the brand of bike you ride burnt into it ..now if it was a jug i could understand..seen heaps of boiling ktm's ..lol

I thought KTM owner used their bikes for that anyway now a cleaver ktm owner would put coffee in the radiator so when it dose boil than can stop and have their old man break on the side of the track and a coffee, I'm sure they could with a little help from cheese sort it out to make a real good latte.

haha - Hands up who has had to end a days riding because their KTM 'riding' buddy has decided their 'ready to race' beast is too hot to be raced?

HA ha ha ha ha ha thats freaking hilarious!

You can roast some beans in the exhaust, and then set up a portafilter on the radiator and make long blacks. A Latte might be a bit tricky....... how to steam milk.........

Never happened. Maybe if you're talking about a 2000 model 125exc with 10,000 hours on it. Might get abit hot

Usually only slower trail riders on bikes that are too big for them have overheating problems. Faster riders get more airflow over the radiators. And I've seen plenty of trail riders on 450mx bikes percolating on trail rides where they are struggling with the conditions. Stopping every ten minutes for a rest doesn't help their cause either.
