Just a teaser at this stage by Triumph.
Lots of talk about what it's final specs will be, but I think it will be based around the 675 engine.
That should have some serious ooomph if they get the torque right.
Might just tempt marks onto one:innocent:

Sounds awsome, but after watching that preview video, that thing looked very very low to the ground.
Sounds fucking epic tho.
I am pretty sure in a thread way back I quietly requested that someone/somehow put a street triple (675) engine into my 690 enduro frame, let us hope they went with that option (with some more fuel please).

A true visionary!!!!
Probably going to be another fat heavy pig that is more of a styling exercise than a true adv steed. Already too many in that market. Give us a mid sized <150kg twin dirt bike and I'll be first in line.

Best pics so far Paul.
Two versions are planned, so I wouldn't read too much into spy pics yet. ie wheel sizes etc.
Sub 200kg from a triple cyl dualie is a realistic ask.
90+hp with bulk torque would be my request.
light single track and gravel with long days in the saddle will be it's domain probably. All speculation, BUT, (in the best Dr Frankenstein's voice)
It's ALIVE!

With the Supersizeme Tenererererererere at 260kg they must be able to do better than that.
Dropped into Trevor Pierce yesterday in Chch, sat on the Tenere, low seat height wasn't bad but I broke a floor tile when I lifted it onto the centre stand :gob:

Supposedly this email was sent out to various media outlets just before the various spy photo's appeared.
Dealer Launch Briefing - Triumph's New Adventure Products
July 2010
A number of "spy photographs" has leaked and the following statement to
key international media ahead of the switch on of a new Adventure micro
site......
"These exclusive spy pictures show Triumph's new adventure bikes being
filmed last week for an upcoming website promo. The shots, scooped inside
a secure testing facility, show two distinctively different models being
filmed: the orange bike being ridden up and down and off road trail while
the black bike stayed on the handling and high speed courses.
A Triumph spokesperson refused to say any more than: 'We can confirm that
Triumph will be entering the adventure bike sector soon with two all-new
models. We are currently entering the final development stages of the new
bikes and everyone involved in the projects is very excited about how
things are going.'
We understand from an insider that Triumph is set to launch a new website
imminently for the new bikes. He confirmed that Triumph has registered the
domain name www.triumph-adventure.com and that the site was due to go live
'very, very soon.' "
The Opportunity
• The Adventure segment represents a significant new business
opportunity for your dealership and for Triumph. In most markets this
segment is growing and attracting bike buyers from other segments. It is
also a sector with high "add on" sales of clothing and accessories.
• The segment is dominated by the BMW GS series and models from Honda
and others - we need to directly conquest these customers to Triumph
starting with our two new 2011 Adventure models which complement the
existing more 'touring biased' Tiger 1050.
• BMW have dominated the segment for many years and are now synonymous
with "adventure" so we have to earn this business with great products,
marketing and an outstanding dealer sales and after care process.
• This initial briefing gives you an understanding of what Triumph
will be doing and what you need to do at dealer level.
What will the new Triumph's deliver?
There are two all new Triumph adventure bikes coming soon - they score on
all counts: especially on specification, durability/reliability; on and
off road performance, handling and comfort and will come with a full range
of accessories and clothing too.
Launch Campaign
• Triumph's two new adventure bikes are under embargo until November
2nd 2010.
• Specific detailed product information will be released on the site
(and with further 'scoops' to the press) against a tightly managed
schedule in this period - for example the model names, engine sizes etc.
• This micro site will run through to November 2nd with monthly
content updates, gradually releasing more information on the two new bikes
and related products.
• All interested prospects should be encouraged to sign up on the new
micro site.
• Prospects who "sign up" will be automatically sent updates each
month until November in their preferred languages*.
• The micro site itself will be given fresh video and content during
the first week of each month through to November 2nd.
• In the first week of November all signed up prospects will be
transferred to the main site where they will be progressed to e-brochure
download, can seek out their local dealer for a test ride** and will be
prompted to visit their local or preferred dealer.
Check out the first Adventure video - available from your Subsidiary or on
line at www.triumph-adventure.com very soon.
Good luck!

What they need is a 675-engined 21/18" adventure model and a 1050-engined 19/17" gs-type model. The former would certainly be in a class of one.

Is there no market for a light-ish single or twin or ww's suggestion of a 675 based basic bike with decent range and good-ish offroad capabilities? oh and well priced.
Or do a lot of overseas adventure riders prefer paved roads and posing outside cafes? (cue a sneeze that sounds like "harley davidson")

There would be little point in producing big brother little brother Vstrom wannabes. If they are serious about producing two bikes to suit both ends of the adventure market (latte\BMW vrs Red Bull\KTM) then lets hope they manage to acheive it. :gob:
KTM will still be the best adventure bike maufacturer, we know that, but would be nice to have a new second placer! :2guns:

There would be little point in producing big brother little brother Vstrom wannabes.Actually, there is, not that I put the adventure/trail version as a 'strom competitor. Firstly, plenty of ppl don't want a japper or a v-twin, and secondly, Triumph would like a slice of the adventure pie! (The versys is the wee-strom wannabe, izzit?)
Triples are quite a different ride, sitting between the power of a four and torque of a twin. And they're turbine-like smooooooth yet distinctively rorty.
I seriously doubt Mr Bloor is going to come out with anything more off-road capable than an F650GSD-type thing. Not a trailie-single competitor, that's for sure, so Messrs. Kronreif & Trunkenpolz won't be losing any sleep.

But I think with a 675 engined 21/18" wheeled machine triumph may be aiming right at the F800GS, & not minding too much if a few 990's get caught in the crossfire.

hugh??? They got the beemer, ducati, guzzi, cagava, oh an ktm not forgetting the current tiger if they want euro... no doubt there will be some sales in the jap decenters/Triumph loyalists markets; is that where they see their market??? The challenge for Triumph is to attract new customers with a fresh offering that will perhaps stand apart from the competition....not clone it....don't ya reckon??

Thats as may be...but its the whole package that Triumph will need to get right if there to keep the financiers in the manner to which theyre acustomed.

well if their market is adventurers looking for a 3 headed pom to ride they should crack it...they maybe wanting to cast their net wider than that though which hopefully means a well thoughtout bike/s that can handle a bit of rough. I am enthusiastically hopping they will and not just another soft tourer.
