My old mans in a wheelchair and this does annoy me a little.
Couple of employees hanging round it as i walked in, not sure if they were calling a tow truck...... I was in there 15min so not a quick stop for rider.

Definately not ok.
Shame on that person.
I once had a mobility card when I was on crutches with a badly broken leg, I was about to park in a mobility carspace when another car zoomed in ahead of me. I sat in my car and watched as a perfectly able bodied bloke got out of the car...ok sometimes the disability isn't obvious but he didn't have a mobility card so I blocked him with my car and asked him if he was disabled.
He replied honestly that he wasn't and said he was in a hurry.
I replied honestly that I WAS and told him to move his f***ing car.
And yes I did swear at him cos I was livid!
He moved his car.

They are there for a valid reason and people have to pay a heap of money to park in these spots so its not ok to park there :2guns: unless of course that person had a mobility sticker on the bike?

maybe he was disabled... not every disabled person is on a wheelchair...
although i do think he could have easily parked on the pavement part above the disabled parking so he dosnt take up a whole disabled space with a bike. that part i dont like

True! Maybe Valentino Rossi whipped down to Bunnings to buy some nails? He is on crutches but can still ride a bike pretty well

Nah, just move it to the other side of the entrance so you can watch the look on their face when they come out and it's gone.
Pretty ignorant, it's not like it's hard to find a space to park a bike, and up against the wall of the building would probably be safer than where it is anyway.

I reckon they should turn it into a (2min loading/ pickup) zone & no time limit handicap zone all in one

That bike owner's problem is that s/he doesn't realise those parks are for the PHYSICALLY disabled

You haven't met my wife, have you....
I paid about $32 for my mobility card, valid for a year, although I certainly hope I won't be needing it for that long.
Last time I was in a wheelchair I used to ring the local Police station and pot them. The local cops were very good and if there was anyone on the area they'd pop along and remonstrate with the driver, or if not, they'd take the vehicle details and send them a nice letter...
I've heard of people having A4 stickers made up and they'd slap them on the windscreen in the driver's vision witha suitable message on it.

I get rather annoyed when I see perfectly abled people parking in disabled spots.
There's one rather influential looking lady that does it quite frequently outside the local supermarket...selfish bitch I hope one day they do clamp her car.
Must be disabled in the brain and can't read????

I watched someone uncannily similar pass wind out of an offending cars tyre, then retire to the pub to watch 2 ladies come out of the picture theatre & drive away on a very flat tyre!

Just the same as a car driver abusing a disabled parking spot.

I have pads of those handouts .. and the message is not subtle at all ... its a kind of swap you my disability for your carpark .. then you can have mine!
I have a disability (multiple sclerosis) and I use a card have done so for the past 13 years. I pay a fee every five years to renew and evidence that my disability has not gone away (if only).
I don't use a park when on my bike - figuring that personally if I am well enough at that time to ride I am ok to walk (in my case this is true).
I don't look like I am ill or disabled - very hard to do when its mainly fatique ... and that is always at the end of the day when walking distances is the difference in me being able to drive home or not.
Grub took the keys out of a delivery truck and handed them to the supermarket owner on a couple of occasions when people decided they had more right to the park than those who furnish a card. I have been known to park behind a vehicle until I am finished when that has happened.
But at bunnings they always have someone near the door that you can tell, and they deal with those abusers well.

Definitely not OK with me. I used to pick fights with young guys in cars that did this at the supermarkets.
Do these people realize that people who are already unfortunate enough to suffer a disability, actually have to PAY to get one of the little slips that entitles them to use the disabled parks?
arrogant fuckin cunt. Im with the guy that said a $5 padlock would sort the fucker out, give that man a DB!

In the past when I have been unable to park in a bike park due to a car being parked in it, the car driver usually comes back later to find that their car if resting on its rims, the air having mysteriously disappeared out of all four tyres! :shit:

Sounds like mrs neels, she has CP but it's not immediately obvious, she doesn't want to get a mobility card as she figures she can still walk into a shop so the disabled parking is for those that can't. But at the end of a long day, once she has sat down on the couch that's it until she gets up and quite often gets me to help her to bed.
And she also hates wankers that park in disabled parks and then bound in to a shop, and think it's ok because they're only going to be 5 minutes.
Seriously guys and girls padlocking and keying are not on really. If it upsets you that the guy parked his bike there just have a calm rational word with him/her.
p.s I promise I won't park there again ok.

My mates a tetraplegic. He need those spaces just for basic access.
I'm past politely discussing it, as the person nicking the park always needed it for something important like getting chippies or beer.
I draw 'em a nice wheelchair piccy wiv me key on their door. It makes me feel better.

Invest in a valve removal tool. Tiny and handy, and ideal for removing valves from the tyres of fuckers like that.

Much agreed. keying is really low. and when it happens to your shiny car/bike. you will see that it just destroys your day if not week. it really sucks

My Mother-in-Law was a severely affected polio survivor and the bravest person I have ever known. I HATE able bodied arseholes who park in disabled parking spaces. I usually ask the offender how bad their mental disablity is. And I can't help but wonder why the bike was still on it's stand.
Guess that states my position quite clearly enough

See I think - Bugger them they get what they deserve! If they weren't choosing to park like an inconsiderate plonker they wouldn't cause anyone to be pissed off enough with them to key or padlock their machine. Simple really

The thing to me is, anywhere is a motorcycle park, all he had to do was pull up on the foot path or somewhere like that.
I would have either pushed the thing over with my bumper, or padlocked it with a $15 master lock that is bolt cutter proof......
There is the remote possibility the rider was dissabled..... other than mentally though I am not sure lol...... Maybe he had one leg, or lost a finger???????

i know a guy in states who recently had surgery on his ankle. he got sick of asking his friends to drive him to appointments so rigged up a way to carry his crutches on his back. he was able to ride to his appointments where he was told to keep it up as it was aiding the healing. lol.
i hate wankers who park in disabled parks when they are not entitled to. there should be stronger penalties.

I know a one legged bike rider and a couple of one armed riders...sure there are disabled people riding bikes but the fact of the matter is that if you wanna park in one of those spaces you MUST display a CURRENT MOBILITY CARD.

Bit hard to display a mobility card securely on a motorbike, when the first porchmonkey to walk past can simply reach over and nick it.

Nah that doesn't wash with me, if you are disabled and riding a bike and wanna park it in a disabled park then its up to you to find a secure way of attaching the mobility card.
Otherwise expect there to be a reaction like we have on this thread..."look at that wanker...bla bla bla bla bla"

Because needless to say, each time a disabled rider wakes up in the morning, the first thing he thinks is "Dear God, I hope the internet isn't angry with me today!"
