perhaps for every serious crime commited by maori the gummint deducted $100000 from a treaty claim that may get their attention, pretty soon they will be owing money to the crown
...and for every serious crime committed by pakeha the government added $100000 ???
you haven't really thought this through have ya....lol

Apart from this bit, I think the answer is a resounding "Yes!"
I think Kaumatua (sp?) need to be stepping up to provide guidance to young Maori. Given the fact that Maori are over represented in ANY negative social statistic you care to name, something new has to be tried. I'd even happily have tax dollars spent (within reason) to make this happen. Pinch of prevention, and all that.

...but are headlines an accurate picture of what really goes on? If they are, then all of us bikers are speeding nutters who mug little old ladies in our spare time. The sad fact is that most media just go for the sensational eye grabbing headline and to hell with the facts.

Morpheus and Neo are plugged in to the matrix and having a chat.
Morpheus turns to Neo "In this world you can be anything you want".
There is a short silence.
Neo: "Then why are you coloured?"
Sweet, I'll take that deal.

actually why would they, maori claims are to right so called wrongs, they dont pay anything to compensate the people they wiped out hundreds of years ago. If Maori want to be treated equally they need to stop acting like stone age savages, take the opportunities that everybody else has eg education and get on with it. Dunedin has fuck all maori but they still manage to turn up in the court news for assaulting/robbing/beating people every week..So its maori language week whats the maori word for beating a baby nearly to death.....kahui anybody??

you got it dead wrong budday.
its because of you honky bastards that the maaari have been oppressed, and its colonialism that causes all maaaari ills and woes. these things are symptoms. symptoms of the fact that the crown (i.e. whitey taxpayer) needs to pay more money in treaty "final" settlements.
No really.
I feel kind of bad taking the piss, this is tragic enough. but I think that EVERY time it happens. and it happens too much.

General crime is part of life. Black/Brown/White. I can handle that side of human behaviour.
Harming, maiming, killing innocent children and babies is abhorrent. Was never a part of NZ culture in any part of the country.
It breaks my heart to know kiddies suffering like this. Forget the racial side of the argument, and focus on whatever the hell the root cause is. (white babies are harmed also).

so apart from the clown who shot the cops the others were driving offences, you missed the maori warrior with the bulldog on his face who beat his girlfriend and the maori warrior who beat the baby and the two maoris who stole a car then beat a policeman with his radio or the maori woman who beat and robbed a taxi driver in dunedin or the group of maori that beat two guys outside mcdonalds in dunedin last week the list goes on and on and on, maori are over represented in prison because they are doing all the crime etc mostly violent. Sure there are plenty of white crims but how long are maori going to go on acting the way they do without the local maori leaders standing up and doing something about it....no just talking about it with their hand out for more $$

I hope the cocksucker gets smashed so badly in jail that he stops stealing my oxygen. Liberals who want to offer support/help/understanding can get fucked too. Already this planet is over-populated, why oh why do we keep fuckers like this alive. Human life is not that sacred that we shouldn't weed out the convicted murderers/rapists/child abusers.
Can anyone honestly tell me I'm wrong?
Can anyone tell me honestly that this guy should get a second chance? The child didn't.
Fuck rehabilitation for fuckers like this. Fuck my taxes being wasted paying for him to be kept alive.

Eds avatar reminded me of The Black Panther movement in the US. Then the shit hit the fan and the protests gave way to internal violence. Same here. The collective angst of a minimised people, has been redirected back on itself, same as all personal responsibility arguments.
Look at Gaza, South Africa, Australia and here
I blame the system, for not managing its herd correctly, but rather steam rolling a one size fits all ideology onto those who due to genetics, cannot absorb it, nor actually want to. But there is nowhere else to go but yourself and frustration, or letting go of what others do, and staying happy anyway. Equanimity I believe the Buddhists call it.
Spiritually its either Bishop Tamaki's lot, becoming Muslim or Rastarfarian for Maori.

Maybe he's right, maybe the 'system' is to blame. Obviously then, the 'system' needs to change it's approach. I vote for eradication. Let the 'system' eradicate the rapists/murderers/child abusers.

Actually upon reflection it could well be the systems fault. These people have been so babysat by the system that they have lost the ability to think for themselves, and then when they do think for themselve e.g. bashing a child, the system was not there to tell them what they are doing is bad.
Shoot the fuckers.

When we say things like:
Police
Maori
Pakeha
etc
We really mean we or us (ourselves) because like it or not that is us, New Zealanders!
We are all shades of everything New Zealand, good bad and ugly and if we don't like "we" should try to do something "positive" about it!
We can not absolve ourselves from the responsibility or consequence simply by blaming someone else! :oi-grr:
