Despite the 2 class within a class and some odd rules everything seems to be as clear as mud and ill just be happy if im able to ride the BMW but there could potentially be a good line up of 'factory' riders

SUZUKI
Stroud
Clee
Bugden?
Shirriffs

YAMAHA
Rees

KAWASAKI
Cole

HONDA
Hayden?
Theres 2 bikes doing nothing, whos prepared to man up and touch there toes?

plus the regulars, plus the new superstock guys would it be dreaming to possibly have 20 bikes on the grid at certain races?

That's seven entrants man, hardly setting the fucking world on fire.

I would imagine Derek's going to campaign the KTM but I may be wrong. I also saw Mr Sellers riding a sparkly new S1000R with a dealer plate fitted earlier in the week. To my knowledge Motorad don't have a demo so it seems he mave have just taken delivery and is running it in. Be nice to see him out there. Be awesome if Jimmy races the thou' again and perhaps Mr Selfe will atack the full season instead of just the south.

Add the Superstock bikes to the grid and it MIGHT actually crack 4 or even 5 rowes at each round. That'd be nice.

Well I'm planning on filling out one of the lower places on the grid (superstock 1000) in the NI rounds so that's two Yamaha's on the grid.

Hopefully an other 20 or so turn up to ride around in slow circles for their own pleasure & to help pay the host club's bills, althoug double points are hardly going to foster that.

Im just listing the factory supported riders there jimmy, thats a shit load! Plus I forgot Jimmy Smith. Add me, dion, reece, ryan, ricky mckay, reece picket, mcadams, kiwi graham, slowpoke, david mccarthur.

All those riders are rumoured to be running plus there is heaps i have forgotten and those south island guys that always support there local rounds. Do the math ;)

Dion has got a BMW and will be racing that from now on. The move makes sense! He can sell his RSV4, build a S1000RR superbike and have money left over. So now he has a better bike with more power, TC, ABS and more room for him to move around as he is really tall for less money.

GOOD MOVE!

So I hear. And good on him if it helps him. But I really don't think chopping and changing from one bike to the next will actually help him right now. Track time and learning race craft is what he needs. Just like anyone starting out.

Yeah I think he has good skills but needs to sorta slow down a bit then he will go faster but from talking to him he has put a lot of thought into the BMW and he has been struggling with the RSV a bit as he was finding it to small.

Could we add Telford to the list of National riders? He has an RSV4....

Honda have no factory supported bikes this year, just Dealer support with contingency for placings (reasonably good contingency as well). They are hoping to have 5 bikes on the grid but we will see. Once again, the 600 class has been completely overlooked, I wonder why I bother sometimes.

But I am with you Chop, I think the grids will be good this year! If anything these new rules have given the racing scene a shake up and they have created a truck load of interest!

New-look formation for Honda MX & Road Race team

After dominating wins in the 2009/10 Motocross season and making plenty of noise on the Road Racing scene, Blue Wing Honda is now ready to announce a new-look formation for its 2011 Race Programme, across both Motocross and Road Racing teams.

Raced and serviced from the Blue Wing Honda Racing Truck, new Honda MX and Superbike teams will sit under the new ‘Honda Dealer Team’ banner at all 2010/11 season events.

‘Honda Dealer Team, MX’ will contest in Motocross events including all four National Championship events, Woodville MX Grand Prix, the Auckland Champs, Whakatane MX and the two international Supercross events.

Two riders will defend the MX1 450 championship titles won in 2009 by Justin McDonald on a Honda CRF450R, and two riders will defend the MX2 250 championship title won in 2009 by Michael Phillips on a Honda CRF250R.

All four MX riders will be on new 2011 Honda CRF450Rs and Honda CRF250Rs. Additional racing events may be added to the schedule, including the possibility of events local to Honda Dealer Team, MX.

‘Honda Dealer Team, Superbike’ will contest in the NZ Road Racing Series, with five Dealer/Rider combinations, racing Honda CBR1000RR Superbikes.

Both Honda Dealer Team, MX and Honda Dealer Team, Superbike will be managed by Paul Stewart from Blue Wing Honda. Full Honda Dealer/Rider team combinations will be announced imminently, following finalisation of contracts by Blue Wing Honda.

Plus, in a new initiative by Blue Wing Honda, substantial prize money will now be up for grabs at specified events, as part of a scheme to reward the highest placed Honda riders, whether they are a Honda Dealer Team, or privateer competitors.

Team specifics will be announced in a separate press release, but if you would like to discuss the formation of Honda’s new 2011 Race Team, please contact:

MMMM the BMW is awesome - I think i'll get one.... eventually!

I tried and really wanted to get on a CBR1000 2 seasons ago, i had some cash and wanted a little help with the price of the Bike and some tyres etc but Paul Stewart basically told me to go jump because i've not achieved anything of any worth! in fact he said "what you have down on paper looks good but what have you really proved, sorry but we cant help you." LOL nice!!! Compaired to Craig S and Hayden F I guess I didnt look so good hahaha - so now the name honda just makes me feel ill, but i'm pretty twisted so it dont take much. ;)

Anyhow long live Suzuki... oh and BMW, ok ok and Yamaha! :scooter:

That's very nice of you once again Vicki to race to his aid! And no need for you or him to get nasty. I've always said and continue to say that I think it's great he's out there doing it...and good luck to him. And crash? Sure I did. Hey hun, I think Pete's post may have been taken a little out of context there. By the looks of it and domestic racing around the world, the BMW would be a good choice for anybody.

Not so. I raced a few street meets on my KX500's, then got my KR1 and did a full season.

Sat around drinking for six years then when I started work here raced the 883 for them. But that ain't doing the nationals...and as I say...it was six years after I raced them. And funnily enough...despite a few offs...I never once landed on my head! Helmets are far too expensive to wreck. Especially as I'm only a poor MC salesman!

Don't think brad will race, he will probably do the canterbury rounds again. Shame that, cos he is a great rider. He is floating around here somewhere he will be able to tell you.

I was looking at a thou this year if they didn't change the rules, but now I can tinker more with the 600 so I will hold onto it for another season. Plus I tend to like starting from a new canvas, that way I know exactly what it has had done.
I think this is a good thing for Honda to do, first contingincy for some years I would imagine. The only thing is, with the current economic climate it is pretty hard going trying to get a dealer to buy a bike for you to race and thrash, really it has no benefit to them just naming rights to the bike.
As I said I was really disapointed to hear Honda weren't going to do anything for the 600 class especially when Jamie got a podium at the GP last year on the CBR.

It takes years to overcome the excesses of free spending Governments. Lucky we are not in the UK, its tenfold worse there.

its surprising how many bikes may be in the Superbike / Superstock field this coming season, despite all the economic pain.

Talking of chunder...pretty sure I saw some paint work that was done by you the other day.

I could be wrong...and if I am...apologies now. BUT...if you did it, you should be well sick. Obviously the combo of arse licking and paint fumes has fucked your eyesight. No self respecting tradesman would've let such shite work out the door.
